TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2024
BACKGROUND
The Rotary Club of Christchurch Charjties Fund was created by Deed dated 22 December IW and registered with the
Charlty CommI$51oners on 10 Marth 1%5.
OBJEcfs OF THE CHARITY
The Charity's objects are to provide comforts either In cash or ktnd for the relief of a8ed poor and lornely persons
residing wlthln the Borou8h of Christthurch and such parts of ihe 5urroundtn8 di5trlct as are Included in the
membership area of the Club and to make contributions to other charitable an¢Y benevolent or8anisations directed to
the public benefit as shall from time to tirne be recommended for suppwt by the Counctl for the time bein8 of the
Christchurch Rotary Club.

Trustees arè chosen from the membèrs of the Rotary Club of Christthuith. The Trustees currently in office or who held
otlice durin8 the year ended 30 June 2024, none of whom received any remuneiatlon. weie as follows..

REVIEW OF AIMS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Fund RaisiTh8 has much improved slntt last yearfs Report, with income hawn8 Increased by some 55% whleh has
enabled the Club to donate £30,587 to local and international 8ood causes, an increase of some 48% over the previou5
year. The irnprovement has been underpinned by new initlatives 5uth as a Sponso￿ walk and the Club's increased
profile in the local communty ha5 led to incrtssed contributions from an established ran8e of fund raising artlvlties. As
mentioned last year the very popular Bonfire v4ent Is being relaunched In Novembei 2024.
The Club's r￿W well establlshed ventvre, The Chn5tchurch UvlnqAdvent Calendar was njn for the thlrd year In 2023.
Although not designed to be a major fund raisin8 event to benefit the Club'5 Charity, it did fulfill its purpose of
facilltatin8 events to enable local charities to raise funds. In tonsequence these charities benefitted to the extent of
some £22,CtsJ. The Primrose Trnst once a8aln provldtd valuable finarKlal support forthls prolect.
The Tnjstees are satlsfied thzt the present pgllcy on reseNts provkles adequate cover for the current level of artlTrAty.
Operational and financlal risks faced by the Chartty are continuously assessed and afe mitlBated as far as practicable by
commercial Insurances. The Trustee5 at all times seek a sensible balawtce between the need to benefit 8ood causes and
the need to retaln sufficient reserves.
PUBLIC BENEFIT
The Trustees have consldered the Charity Commission 8uldèline5 on PublK 8enefit and conslder that by carryin8 Out
the objects of the Trust Deed by twhich they are bound they will accordingly meet the requirernent for Public Benefft.
