KESTON VILLAGE HALL TRUST. A Registered Charity. ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31st DECEMBER, 2023. 

Keston Village Hall of Heathfield Road. Keston is registered with the Charity Commissioners No. 238848. 

The Trust is administered by a management committee consisting of the following trustees:

The object of the charity is the provision and maintenance of the Village Hall for the use of the inhabitants of the Ecclesiastical Parish of Keston and the neighbourhood thereof without the distinction of political, religious or other opinions, including meetings, lectures and classes, and other forms of leisure occupations, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. 

Regular users of the Hall included badminton clubs, dancing classes, dog training classes, short mat bowling, mothers and toddlers group, cactus society, Pilate’s classes, yoga classes, Morris Men, and sewing classes.   Additionally a number of adult and children’s parties, concerts, charity fundraising events, Christmas markets, antique fairs and wedding receptions were held. 

Investments to ensure safety and security of the halls have been ongoing with the installation of security cameras in key areas. Arrangements have been made for the installation of LED lighting in all areas. 

Following use of the defibrillator (successfully) the unit has been maintained with new pads and battery purchased to ensure the unit is always ready. 

The Bookings Secretary reported bookings remain good with plenty of children’s parties although a reduction in the wedding bookings has been noted. The 

halls remains to be nearly at 100% usage during the week with only a few spots available in the jubilee room in the evening. 

Income from the hire of the halls was £40,433 after expenditure the balance was £17,163 with assets held including investments £84776. 

Projected expenditures for 2024 include replacement of hall floorings and new curtains in the main hall.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended **31/12/2023** . 

**Responsibilities and** As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation **basis of report** of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

I have completed my examination.  I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
