Risk Management The Tnjstees continually review the major risks to which the charity is exposed, in particular those related to the finances of the charity and are satisfied that systems are in place to mitigate their exposure to majoi. risk. The major risk of the charity is ils investment portfolio risk, which is mitigated by biannual meetings with the Investment Managers. OBJECTS AND ACTIVITIES Objects of the Charity The object of the charity is the making of grants to charitable Causes chosen by the trustees at their absolute discretion. Objeetives for the Yr The objectives for the year were.. To continue lo make grants to charitable organisations. To monitor the incorne of the Charity whilst monitoring the financial markets. ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE A¢hlevement of Objectives and Publlc Benefit The Charity continued to provide grants lo worthy organisations. In the year this amounted to 257 grants totalling £65,000 (2024: £79,400). This included many medical and relief ot poverty charities and these are disclosed in the Notes lo the Accounts {pages I1- 16). Many of the oi'ganisations concerned are grateful to receive the grants, and the Charity received many letters of thanks. In planning the activities for the year the Trustees have referred lo the guidance contained in the Charity Commission's guidan¢e on public benefit. In particular the TTU5tees considered how planned activities contribute to th¢ aims and objectives of th¢ Charity and are Satisfied that this is the case. Gront Making Pollcles Grant applications are reviewed to ensure they coJnply with the requirements of the Charity and the Trustees authorise payment through a third party. Fundralslng The Charity does not undertake any fundraising activities.

In the year the Charity received donations of £50.620 and investment in¢ome of £43,745 and expended £98,304, resulting in net expenditure for the period of £10.134 after Realised Gains and Unrealised Losses on investments of £15,516 and £21,711 respectively. The Charity saw the market value of investments decrease during the year to £965,996. Reserves Policy The Trustees maintain sufficient reserves in the Income Fund to m¢¢1 ¢xp¢cl¢d direct Charitable ¢xp¢ndilure. The Capital Fund is invested to produce ineom¢ for the In¢ome Fund. FUTURE ACTIVITIES The Charity will continue to generate income lo make grants lo Charitable bodies. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice.. Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their account5 in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standards applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (Second Edition issued in October 2019) and the Fillancial Repoiting Standard appli¢8ble in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland {FRS 102) and the Charities Act 2011. The accounts have been prepared to give a 'true and fair view, and have depaited from the Charitie5 (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 only to the extent requiiEd to provide a 'true and fair view,. This departure involved following Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accoi'dance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in th¢ UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS102) issued on 16 July 2014 rather than the Accounting and Reporting by Charities Statement of Recommended Practice effective from l April 2005 which has since been withdrawn. The Charity constitutes & public benefit entity as defined by FRS 102. The Trustees consider that there are no material uncertainties aix)ut the Charity's ability to continue as a going concern. b) Funds The Capital and Income Funds represent the funds of the Charity that are nol subject to any Te511'iclions regarding their use and are available for application lo the general puryoses of the Charity. Funds designated for a particular purpose by the Charity are unrestricted. Restricted Funds are funds which are used in ac¢ordance with specifi¢ reslriclions imposed by donors or which have been raised by the Charity for a particular purpose. ¢) Income All income is recognised once the charity has entitlement to the income, it is probable that the income will be received and the amount of income receivable can be measured reliably. d) Expenditure Liabilities are recognised as expenditur¢ as soon as there is a legal or ¢onslru¢tiv¢ obligation comTnitting the charity to that expenditure, it is probable that settlement will be requii'ed and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. All expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis. All expenses in¢luding siipport costs and govemance costs are allocated or apportioned to the applicable expenditiire headings. e) Investments Investments are a forni of basic financial investment and are initially recognised at their transaction value and subsequently measuiEd at fair value as al the balance sheet date using the closing quoted market pri¢e.
