TRUSTEES. ANNUAL REPORT
The Trustee5 pr￿ent their annual report for the year ended 31 December 2024.
Principal aims and objective5=
The irnst was established under a Tnst deed dated 26 August 1893. Its objects are to provide
Almshouses for poor persons of g¢)od cbaracter who have resided within the borough for at least 5 years.
Any residue of income may be distributed amongst other similar people.
Maln adfivltles, achievements financial performance:
During the period Ullder review, the rents received by the trust amounted to £29.720 (2023: £23,940) and
all other iocome received was fro￿ investments.

The power of appointing new trust￿ is exercisable by all existing trustees.
The Trustees have itivested certain of the T￿￿t'S Funds into a range of inve5ttn¢nts as detsiled in Note 7
to the accounts. The matket value of the investments increased by £14.680 (2023: £6,062 increase) during
the year.
Reserves Policy
Unrestiicted funds are needed:
to prod￿¢ snvestment income sufficient to cover the Tn]st's nornlal level of expenditure and
to maintain a ¢olltingency reserve to safeguard the Trust in the event of unforeseen ¢ir¢umstance&
The level of reserves is monitored and reviewed by the Tnwees amiually.
The trus¢ has an Endowment Fund of £160,0(K) (2023: £160,IrfM)).

The tNstees of The Nancy Derbyshire Twst havc pleasure in presenling their Report and Financial
Statements for the year ended 31 December 2024. The fmancial sta￿ents comply with the stateD￿nt of
Recornmended Practice- Accounting and Reporting by Charities.
The law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the trnstees to prepare statements of account
for each fmancial year. which give a true and fair view of the charity's fillancial activities during the year
and of its financial position al the end of thc year. ID preparing financial statements giving a trne and fair
view, the tn￿teeS should follow best practicc and:

The trustees are responsible for keeping accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy the
financial position of the Charity and which enable them to &scertain the financial position of the charity
which enable them to ensure that the financial staiements comply with the Charity (Accounts and Reports)
Regulations 201Y). They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for tsking
reasonable steps for the prevention and detcction of fraud and other irregularities.

that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 (2) of the Charities Act 2011 (tbe 2011 Act)

Basis of Independent examiner's report
My examinalion was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity
Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a
comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual
items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from you as tTr￿teeS concerning any such
matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and
consequently no opiniou is given as lo whether the accounts present a 'true and fair vi¢w' and the report is
limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

Basis of accounting
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Accounting and Reporting by
Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in
accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland
(FRS 102) (effective l January 2019) - (Charities SORP (FRS 102)) and the Financial Reporting
Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102).
The Nancy Derbyshire Trust tu¢¢ts the definition of a public benefit entity Under FRS 102. A&sets
and liabilitics are initially rccorded at cost or transaction value unless otherwise Stated in the
relevant a¢wunting policy notes.
Going Concern
The Trustees have, at the time of approving these accounts a Teasonable expectation that the
charity has adequate resources to Continue in operation for the foreseeable future. Therefore. the
trustees continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in the prepaTpAtion of these
accounts.
