**Objects:** FOR A PUBLIC LIBRARY FOR THE INHABITANTS INCOME TO BE APPLIED IN REPAIRING AND CLEANING THE BOOKS, BOOKSHELVES AND BOOKCASES BELONGING TO THE CHARITY AND IN KEEPING THE SAME INSURED AGAINST LOSS OR DAMAGE BY FIRE OR FROM ANY OTHER CAUSE.

**Activities:** The Cranston Library is one of the glories of Reigate's heritage. The trustees conserve the books, maintain routine security and purchase insurance. The main fund-raising event is the annual Cranston Lecture. Free access is arranged for scholarly research and visits from the public. The library participates in the annual Heritage Open Day and other visits are made by arrangement with the trustees.
