The charity is operated under the rules of its constitution adopted 29/12/1961. 

Advertising in local Clifton Village Residents newsletter and by personal approaches to potential individuals who have indicated interest in the hall. 

## **Objectives and activities** 

Village hall for the inhabitants of Clifton-cum-Glapton and the immediate vicinity. 

## **Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit** 

By providing a venue for the social, cultural, spiritual and political lives of the people of Clifton Village and beyond. 

Maintain and hire out the Hall to a variety of children and community groups, churches and local organisations, plus to people for parties, meetings and workshops, and for sporting and recreational activities. Maintain and rent out the School House. 

## **Public benefit statement** 

The Trustees confirm that they have complied with the duty in section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit, 'Charities and Public Benefit'.

Summary of the main achievements during the perfod
.Successfully maintained the venue as a valuable community asset, providing a
welcoming and accessible space for a wide range of local groups, Churches,
organisations, and activities serving both Clifton Village and the wider community.
.Continued to effectively manage and maintain The School House. ensuring it
remained in good condition and fully rented throughout tha period.
•Successfully completed the new development providing a new 8ntrance, small hall
and kitchen. a refurbished disability toilet and improved storage facilities.
.The new development was officially opened on Saturday 26th April 2025 by our
local MP, Lilian Greenwood.
FSnanclal review
We completed the funding of the halls new development by using Trustees loans
rather than entering a bank k)an.
The charlty's pollcy on reserves
We intend to hold a strategic reserve of £5.000 to cover any unforeseen events.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of The Clifton Village Hall Trust (the charity) for the year ended 31 December 2025. 

## **Responsibilities and basis of report** 

As the trustees of the charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts 

section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or 

2. the accounts do not accord with those records. 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
