Parish Council. The remaining trustees are co-opted. All app)intments are for a peri¢xi of four years.
Risk management and policy
The Trustee5 have a duty to identify and revw risks and to ensu￿ that apwoprsate controls are in pla￿. Risk
management is regularty reviewed and the Trust￿5 a￿ satisf*d that appropiiate sy5tuns are in pla￿.
Reserves policy: It is the intention of the Trustees to build up and maintsin suffiaent funts to meet
the Charity's reqU1￿Ments. This is revEwed annualty.

Conflirt of interest.. It is record8Y that Mrs Phllippa de Hak￿an9 dedared a conflict of loyalty arislng
from her husband's 5ervKe as Churchwarden of 5t Peterfs, Little Barrirvjton. Trustees considered the
Charity Commission guidance on conflict of interest and resolv&1 that she was entitled to participate
fully in any decision making regarding St Peterfs Without further or nTr)re SFecsfic re9)lution.

The objects of the Charity comprise of:
The provision, Maintenan￿ and repair of the Reading R￿rn.
The Maintefian￿ and repair of St Peterfs Church, Lrttle Barrington;
The maintenance and repair of the Chartvs a55ets consi5ti.ng of 8 cottsges arKI land;
The relief of F*rsons resident in the area who are in need, hardship or distress.
To promote such general putAic charitabk purposes for the benefrt of the inhabitants of the area as the Trustees
think fft.
The area of benefrt indudes ￿ttle Barri￿tOn, Great Barrington, Wlndrush, shert￿rne and the surrounding
neighiy)urhcKé.
Public benefit
The Trustees confimi that they have referred to the gUhlan￿ Ou￿1ned in the Charity Commissioners general
guidance on the public benefit when reviewing the Trusts aims and ob￿￿YeS in setting out the grant making
F(slicy for the year.
The CharWs i￿ome derives from tre rents of 8 cottage5, arable land farn￿d under a Famiing Business
tenancytr grazing land under a GraziThJ aTrJ MowirKJ Licen￿ and contributions for the use of the Reading Room.

At the end of 2023 the Charty bank tkilar￿5 Stoc%1 at £186,340.29 indLKling the £40,OCQ grant for Sherborne
Primary Schcol held on account.
An interest tearing account is maintsiwl with COIF.
An Accurnu1at￿n fur￿ is malntained with M&G investments.

As previously reFOrted, The Govemors and Headmaster of Shertx)me Schcol approached the Trustees in 2018
asking ft)r their supw in the furKlir*J of a ne￿ daSsrO(￿ propct resulting fr(Mn an increase in pupil numbers

and the need to improve facilrties. Wtth trrtain condFtK)ns, trE Trusts& agreed to contribute funds to this
project and donated É20,OCK) each t)ecember for 3 year5 {commenciro December 2018). The schtsjl has
received the donation of É20,000 for 2018, but the kh￿1 has asked that the amounts due for 2019 and 2020
should continue be held wrthin the Charity Account due to the continLEd delay in the planning pro￿55. The
Governors regularly k￿p the Trustees upmdated wrth progress rt rs hotkd that matters will prc(eed now
that the schcol's appllcatK)n to fr)in the Corinium Academy has been accepted.
The Trustees maintsin ttsir prevh)us decishjn to build up hokj a reserve for necessary refurbishment of the
Charity's properbes and for any FQtentsl contingenaes arxl risks. Funds are being retained for the cost of
works arising from the Church's recent quinquennial rewrL
Ewntial works to the MinrKh¥ Lane and Leys Fam proFerties other than routine repair and maintenance
continue includlng works to ensu￿ compliano wf(h EPC a￿1 EICR ccfftplkin￿. The￿ a￿ some major works
roofing works required duriro 2024.
The Reading Rcrrfn is used for communty events aThJ meebngs.

I report in respecl of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out
under seCt￿n 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I
have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission
