ANNUAL BOARD REPORT MAY 2021

The church held the Thanksgiving Service on the Saturday previous to the actual Thanksgiving date in November. This enabled us to have the Service in the afternoon followed by light refreshments. This was well attended by members, regular attenders and also friends who had been invited. The meeting had also been advertised to the public who are very welcome to attend.

We were so grateful to receive a Donation from the Tunbridge Wells Christian Science Society. This amounted to £23.000-00. This will enable us to continue to fulfill the spiritual mission outlined in our Church Manual and maintain the church buildings in good condition.

Physical lectures were suspended due to government regulations and the increasing requirement to social distance throughout the year. We are looking forward to an easement of these regulations and the opportunity to hold our annual lectures again for the benefit of those in our community who would like to know more about Christian Science. We have greatly benefited from the provision of on-line services during the May and June lockdown.

At the time of writing our services have returned to normal albeit with due regard to social distancing.The Reading Room has continued to open on a Saturday morning allowing the public to pick up their Christian Science literature.

As we read in Matthew 7 – v. 7 and 8 Ask and it shall be given you; seek and you will find; knock and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened”.

We are very grateful to be here in our Community and able to invite the public to share our services and events.
