The main activity of the Mission is the advancement of the Christian Gospel among the public. This is achieved by displaying Bible verses on posters in various locations within the UK. Additionally, Bible verses are regularly posted on social media sites. Posters provide details of our helpline, manned by one of our trustees, which can be reached via telephone or social media. Its main purpose is to explain the Christian faith, but the scope of help given is considerably wider. A secondary and valuable purpose is to encourage Christians as they go about their daily business. Posters feature positive and encouraging but also thoughtprovoking messages.

Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

BTPM placed 213 posters during the two campaigns that were run during this year. This is an increase in the number of posters displayed of 26% compared to the previous financial year, even though two campaigns is a low number. The reason for only two campaigns is that there were no Easters in this financial year, and BTPM always runs an Easter campaign, Easter being the most important time within the Christian calendar.

The money spent on campaigns was 42% less than the previous financial year, due to no Easter. The prediction for year ending 5th April 2026, however, is a spend of c£50k, which is an increase of c.34% over year ending 5th April 2024. The public can contact BTPM via telephone, email and social media, and many have done so over the year. A good number of these contacts have been from Christians, who have been encouraged and strengthened in their faith by seeing the posters in their neighbourhood. Other people have made contact to discuss the meaning of the verse or a general conversation about faith. Additionally, help is given to people who are going through difficult experiences and these communications frequently continue long after the initial campaign has ended. BTPM is careful to respond respectfully to all contacts, regardless of their ethnicity, faith and lifestyle, but is ready to explain our understanding of the Christian Scripture whenever explanation is sought. The trustee concerned is well practised in speaking with vulnerable people.

Section E Financial review

Brief statement of the charity’s policy on reserves

BTPM operates not so much a reserve policy but seeks to manage the charity's finances with prudence. There are no employees nor are there any long-term contracts that tie up finance, so there is no need to reserve large sums of money. Advertising contracts are negotiated individually and are only agreed if the finance is already in place to cover the costs arising.
