The financial statements have been prepared in ae£ord8nce with the accounting ptslicies sel out in note 1 to the
financial stateTnents and Qornply with the charity's governing document, the Charities Act 2011 alld "Accounbng and
Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to tharilies preparing iheir accounts in
accordance with the Finanaal Reporting Standaid applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 leffe¢tive
1 January 20191"
Objectives and activiti•s
The chaiity's object and principal activities is lo offer residential ¢are lo elderfy persons, by the provislon 8nd
m8nagemenl ol appropriate aceommodalion.
The charity aims to provide the highest qualrty, most flaxible and personal care for èach and tsvery resident. We
Ireal everyone with compassion. in an environment where physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs are met,
enabling our resid8nts lo live life lo the full with continual support being available.
The Trustees confirm that the charity has complied with Section 4 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard lo
the public benefit guidance published by the Charities Commission. The charity relies on the income from fees and
¢h8rges lo cover most of its oper81ing costs. In setting the level of fee5 the Iruslees give due consideration lo the
need to ensure that thg residential accommodats'on provided by the charity is accessible to all members of the
community.
Achiavèmonts and perfomiance
The home maintains our good rating with the Care Quality Commission.
The home is ¢omm(rted lo the delivery of high*uality care, through well tiained staff a safe and homèly
environmènt.
The Iruslee5 are dedicated to continuous improvernents in all aspects of our se￿￿.
The continual increases in the home overheads caLtsed by iecenl worfd events. is creating conceins on the home's
financial wability
The c>verhead5 continue lo be high, but in¢rea5es in the last year continué to be achievable. Concerns for financial
viability are reducing. The Increase in Living wage was supplemènted by our increases in Residential Fees. The
management team continues to overcorne these obstacl&s and a¢hieve a well-run positive home.
The home has a well-eslablished quality control system in place and continues to re(*ive positive feed back in all
areas through our resident and wsitor questionnaires.
The fact we continue to havè a wailing list for vacancies within the home. is a testament to how the home is
peiceived by the people wittiin our surrounding district.
The occupancy within the home continues to bè good and we have rnaintained 900A occupancy rale throughout the
year.
The recruilrnent ol good well trained Care staff has again beèn a problem this finanaal year, and it is a legacy of the
pandemic, staff are now more reluctant to work wrthin ca￿. We do not have a high turnovor of staff. so this enables
us through planning and good managemènt to eonlrol this problem.
Fundraising activitlas
The charity does not take part in any specific fundraising aclivilies.
Invèstmènt perfonnance
The ¢harity has invested in a small portfolio of invesiments, the performance ol which is rnonitorad on a regular
basis. The performan¢e of these investments in the year was in line with expectations.
