In setting their objeclNes the tru31ee8 have given careful consideration to the Charity ccrfnmission's general guidanc& on public benefft. ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE During the year the trustees have achieved the main aims and objective$ of the tharrty, by providing aftordable iented accommodation in the Harton T¢)wn area. The trustees Are conllnually spending on the maintenance and improvèmént of the Tru8fs house5 to provide tenants lIh safe and comfortable ac(x)rnrllodation. FINANCIAL REVIEW Resejves pollcy At the year end, the charity cash rèserve$ amounted to £87,329. The Trustees reserves policy is to ke9p thè cash reserves al been £S0,OCKJ and £100,000 to Ver 2 10 3 years of normal expenditure plus any major one off repairs required to the propeities. Thè investment a&8el is held as a designated reserve for improvements needed lo the freehd property. The propety valuations on page S are out of date. but th8 trustees believe that there is no beneffil, u$MI9 Chaiitable fvnd lo have the valuations updated. The figures shoul¢J therefore be looked at purely as a general guide lo the assets held by the rharity. STRLICTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT Govemlng document The Chatty is controlled by its goveming docajmrt dated 24th Aug$1 1995, a deed of trust and constitutes an unincorpDf8ted charity. Recrultment and appolntm•nt of rt•w tru¥te Trustees are appointed by invitation from the serv5ng trustees. IndLr¢tlon and tralnlng of trustsB• Truslees are aware of their legal obligatlons under i*arty law. In the event of a new appointment. the board of trustees arejointly responsible for briefin9 a new trustee on their obligab'ons. Extemal training may be provided if VL is considered usefvl for the ongoiro stew&rdship of the ch8tity.
