This report is made solely lo the charity's Trustees. as a body, in accordance with section 145 of the
ehanties act 2011 and regulations made under section 154 of that Ad. My work has been undertaken so
that I might stste to the charity's Trustees those malleTS l am required to state to them in an independent
examinerfs report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I do not accept or
assume responsibility lo anyone otherthan the charity 8fKI the chafity's tfustees as a body for mywork or
for this report.

As the Trustees oflhe Charity you are Trsponsible forlhe preparation of the accounts in accordance with
the requicemenls of the Charities kl 2011 {'the 2011 ACVI.
I report in respect of my examination of the Charity's accounts carried out under sect￿￿ 145 of the 2011
Act and In carrying out my examination I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity
Commission Under section 14515llbl of the 2011 Act.

the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material fespect..

The Thompson Prilchard Trustwas constituted by a Trust Deed dated 6 April 1939, founded bythewllol
Annie Louise Pritchard and comprised in a scheme dated 12 October 1956. The Charity's registered
number is 234601.
b) Method of appointment of Trustèè$
TnJslee¥ are appointed by the Comm5ttee attheAnnual Meeting each year. Trustees can be co-opted at
any lime during the year.

The Trustees have assessed the major risk5 to which the charity is exposed and are satisfied that
systems are in place to mrtigate the exposure lo the major risks.
The Trustees consider the charity to be well FQSitioned lo manage the current sstuation and secure
operations into the future.

To apply the income thereof in or towards providing convales￿nI treatment for poor patients on their
being discharged from the Royal Sh￿W$bUry Infirmary orforotherpersons in any Convalescent Homelor
the lime being provided by the Trustees or in 8ny Institution which provides convalescent treatment for
pwr persons as the said Tnjslees shall in their discretion think fit.
In so faf as the Tnjstees are unable lo apply the clear income forthis purpose they may apply the same
as they think fil for the benefit of eilherlhe sick poor of Shropshire ggnerolly or of such sick poor persons
resident Ihefein as they select and in particular but wilhoul prejudice to the generality of the foregoing in
one or more of the following ways:
The supply of bedding. comforts. food fuel and medical and other aids.
Grants for the benefits of persons who are sick, infimi. convalescent or in need of rest or
change of air lo defray the expenses of recuperative holidays or of obtsining domestic help.
The donation of money in aid of the funds of any C£Jnvalescent home or other institution or
organisation estsblished or to be estsblished for the ￿re and relief of siek persons upon the
termswhich will ensure that the benefrt of the institution or organisation are available for the ￿ck
poor of Shropshire.

The Charity Is listed in relevant charity directories and the information kept L¢P lo dale. Many applications
are made by way of information from the directories.
The secretaries regularly infomi and remind relevant agencies {Citizens' Acknce, Doclofs, surgeries, bcal
hospitals, hospices) in Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin of the Charity's existence and ils objectives.
Trustees bllng to the Charity's notits eases from their own areas, both geographical and professional. All
areas of the county are covered geographically. Professional expertise comes from the Church, the
County Council, the medical profession as well as members of the general public.

al Roviow of activtties
The Trust has continued lo make ils existence known by developing contacts with agencies and ca
services aware of people in need of help. Details of the charity are induded in publicats'ons of charitable
Irusls. The Secretaries, linkswilh the medical profession are invaluable and they are able to liaise closely
with GPS and a$s￿lationS such as Nurses Leagues. All applications for help are carefully investigated
and S¢feenod. Tmstees making persona1 assessment visits and submitting confiden1181 reports as the
need anses. Those applications that do not fill the criteria are refused. Sorne are referred lo other
Charitable Trusts.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
a) Rosorvgs polÉ¢y
The Trustees invest ieseNes not required forshort term purposes to producefurther investment income.
This is the charty's main source of income. Four Custodian Trustees are appointed lo review the
Charity's investments tsvice yeady and they ￿port back to the Committee of Trustees. The inves*menls
are managed by $lockbrokers and are held in Chantable Funds.
The f￿e resetves of the charity at 31¥t December2023 were £53,433 {2022'. £57,222). These are the nel
cash assets of the charity at the end of the financial year.
b) Grant maklng pollcy
The Charity irsviles 8pplicationg in accordancewith Its objects bywriting to the Secretsries. Grants of less
than £600 may ￿ agreed by the Chairman and grants over £600 are ratified by the Committee of
Trustees. 133 minor grants were made in the year.
