In 1910 Henry Lincoln leltthe sum of £1300 to the Paster and Dfjacons of th? Union Church.
LDuÉhton, commonly known 88 Loughtonn Chapel. now known £s Loughton Baptist Church, to
be used for the pijrchase of land or¥ which to build small Almshou8es. In 1914 8 suit8ble plot of
land opposite the chu¥ch was purchasgd and there are nov4 4 one bed Almshou8es. The Will
stated that these should be offered to those poor persons resident in Loughton ol the age 0150
y8ars knd upwards. Preference beinggiven to those attending the church lor a period of 10
yo81s.
The Alm8hou8es arg maSntain8d by the Lincoln Almshouses ch8rity of which the Deacons of
Loughton 8aprist Church are the Trustoes.
Resioents ai8 charged a w8ekly maint8nance contribLttion which is put tOW8rds the general
runnlng costs and m8¢ntènance ol th6 property.
DuTlng the pa8t yeBr the single most costly improvement was thè replacement ol dllapidated
claddingto the rear of the property.
A working capital is r&tBined in the HSBC current 8acount and emergency mDney in a deposlt
account. The charity has rio T8gul8r ovgrhpads and thp TrL¢Stee8 r8tain monles in the London
Baptist PropEJrty Board Deposit account and investments in the COIF Investment Funcl ol over
£100,000 in case of signlficant building r8pairs being requir8d.
