SeGtion C Ob-ectives and activities The charity manages and maintains the Village Hall for the purposes of physical and mental recreation and social, moral and intellectual development through the medium of reading and recreation rooms. library. lectures, classes, recreations and entertainmenls or olhemise as may be found expedient for the benefit of the inhabitsnts of the Parish of Church Knowle in the County of Dorset and its immediate vicinity. Summary oflhe objects of the charity set out in its governing document In planning our activrties for the year, during our Committee meetings we kept in mind the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit. The main activities are: Maintaining and improving the Hall as an important Community Building Hiring the Hall to IcKal community groups to provide an affordable facility for them to meet in Arranging Communty events to bring the whole Village and nearby residents together to strengthen the community and tackle isolau'on and rural lonliness. The Village H811 is an important communty asset within the Church Knowle Parish. It is hired out lo community groups for a variety of uses. These include: an Art Group a Needlework Group Table Tennis Ad Hoc hire for example for groups attending christenings, wedding and fvnerals al the nearby church. 6eGtion D AGhievement5 and performan Summary of the main achievements of the charity durlng the year The Village Hall was successful in attracting a number of grants during the year and these have allowed us to invest in improving the facilities available at the Village Hall and lo reduce our operating costs through the installab'on of Solar PV panels. A new Kitchen was instslled thanks to a grant of £20.000 from the National Lottery Community Fund. Solar PV panels were installed thnks to grants from Perenco Ltd, Low Cart)on Dorset and the SSE Powenng Communities lo Net Zero Fund. In addition, the SSE Fund provided a grant to cover the cost of installation of 2 EV charge[5 which are now available for the local residents and visitors lo use. The Village Hall is an important community asset within the Church Knowle Parrsh_ It is hired out to commur7ity groups for a variety of uses. The Trustees have agreed that the Charity should hold £15,000 as reserves in case any major building repaiTS are required. Section F Other o tional information With the major capital projects now complete, the Twstees will focus on ensuring that Ihe Village Hall is well-mainlained as a community asset and will attempt to attract fijrther users to the ha11, consislenl with our Charitable Objects. A number of long-standing Trustees and Committee members have indicated that they may wish to retire over the next year so there wll also be a need to recruit new Trustees to ensur8 that there are SLrfficient people to maintain the facilty and the various communty and funthraising activities which we undertake.
