Structure Governance and Mana ement Furness and Llarrow BranGh is autonomous and operateswithin the Branch Rules and with connections to the National Bodyofthe RSPCA. The recruitment 2nd 8ppointment of Trustees is Derformed by inviting members of the local Branch to be on the committee. Nominations to stand for election are sent to all members tseTore the AGM. Eligible members then elect Trustees ofthe Branch each year_ Policies and procedures for the training of the trustees are through written guidance from the National body. The DranGh has 4-G weekly committee meetings which are minuted. Tf)e Branch Is Insurett through a FISPCA national policy which perform tasks and a88e83ment3 where necessary. Selected members of our Branch attend group meetings with other branches in the NorrhwesT region. Our regional boarci representative attends meetings In the region an addresses 183ues that arise which are relevant to the Branch. We regularly update our Facebook and website pages with advice and information for our lollowers. We also auvenise our Fun¢Jraising events which are very popular. I he br8nch is in contact with other local groups that offer rehoming. pet finding and information. Work with dogs is limitod duo to lack of suitable kennel facilities. These objectives are largely performed through our advice centre. We promote neuteringand welfare assistance towards veterinary Gare through ourvoucher system and our close working relationship with localvets. All animals we rehome are neutered, microchipped and inoculated. Our branch volunteers attend home visiting courses to assist with this aspect of our work. The RSPCA Advice Centre at 106 Church Street. Barrow in Furness is open to the public on Monday and Tuesdayfrom 9.30am to 4.30pm (Closes for lunch) and Friday9.30am to 8.30pm

We gained Tara and Rhianna as committee members, said goodbye to Jenny, welcomed Sarah Mason as our new BPM and Ava Powleyas a colLege studentlemployee. we had a busy yearwith the cais, some cais hao heaiin issues which took numerous vet visits and treatments to resoLve. We took in a street cat named Casper who had FIV, we put his story on Facebook, and we received a fewthousand pounds for him which was amazing. A bigthankyou to Alex for all the time she spends collecting cats, doing vet visits, etc and to all those who heLp with the daily cleaningand sociaLising. We held b meetings (Juringthe yearas weil as the AGM and Christmas night out, all were well attended. 2025 wao o busy yeor for rehoming cato we have rehomed o total of 27 cats including barnlfarm cat placements and transfers to other faci litiesjcharities. Our holding pens are constantly in use and we have foster carers who take care of our cats. helping to socialise and promote healthy development untilthey are readyforthe forever home. Welfare We have continued to help members of public who have asked for help with vet bills for both emergency and routine treatments. We have also continued to help with the costs of neutering and chipping, and ran a successful neutering campaign for cats, dogs and rabbits. We have issued 107 vouchers during2025 and 65 vouchers for medical conditions. uur holding pens are proving usetulto take cats that need treatment or help Wllh recoveryfrom injuries and Tor sociaiising in preparation for rehoming. Financial Highlights Just under £12,000 was received from donations and fundraising events. £1,189.37 was received from bequests. £9.810 was paid thrnLJgh niJrvniJr.hp.r scheme to help members ofthe public with veterinary carc costs. The Rabbit Facility shed was sold for £500 after the committee decided it was no longer practical to retain it. As a branch, we are always grateful when peo- ple choose to remember us in theirwills. This support is deeplyappreciated, and we take
Staff and Support Our largest outgoing is staff salaries, and these costs are fully deserved. We could not manage without the support of Gill, our Branch Adminis- trator, who consistently%oes above and beyond. Sharon, Karen and Ava, our paid staff members. also do a wonderfuljob caringforthe cats in our care, and we greatly appreciate everything they do. We have seen an increase in requests for assistance, including help with consultation fees, which highlights the growing level of need in our com- munity.
