MARDER BEQUEST ALMS HOUSES
CHAIRMAN’S REPORT 2021-2022
Another year dominated by COVID. The Residents of Marder have come through the situation very well indeed.
All repairs and surveys were carried out. The firms involved carried out their work in a very professional manner in the way they dealt with COVID.
One issue that needs to be highlighted is ‘Care in the Community’. One resident had home care for all of 18 (eighteen) months and was then moved into hospital and then into a care home. Time spent in care home came to nearly twelve (12) months. The main problem for the Trustees wasa lack of information from the family and Social Services. _
No Weekly Maintenance Charges were lost during this time but it was a long period for the flat to be empty. Trustees feel this is an issue that needs to be amended.
Two new Trustees were appointed. The Deed of Appointment carried out by theTrusts Solicitors. The Trust is very fortunate to have so many young Trustees.
The Trustees have carried out their duties and continue to provide well maintained and low cost homes for the Residents, This is the obligation of the Trust. The Residents are well cared for and are happy.
The Trustees of Marder is as follows:-
—
Mr K Caddy Mr D Lovell Mr D Street Mrs A Denning Mrs M Ellis Mr P Street ~~ ~MrsC Lovell Miss T Golesworthy

MARDER BEQUEST ALMS HOUSES
FINANCIAL REPORT 2021-2022
The Trust has maintained a sound financial position.
The Trustees have managed the financial aspects in their usual sound and prudent manner.
No major developments or improvements were carried out due mainly to the restrictions that COVID produced. Basic upkeep and surveys were the main items of expenditure.
|
The financial status of the Trust is very sound.
Current and Business Account stand at just over £25,000.00
The M&G Emergency Fund is in excess of £100,000.00
The future is for No 3 unit to be refurbished and upgraded as soon as builders are able to start.
It is fair to say that COVID has only had a very small effect on the financial aspect and status of Marder.
