**Objects:** THE OBJECT OF THE LEAGUE IS THE RELIEF OF SICKNESS AND THE PROMOTION OF HEALTH (THE ‘HEALTHCARE FUNCTION’)BY SUPPORTING THE WORK UNDERTAKEN AND THE SERVICES AND FACILITIES PROVIDED, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, BY ORUNDER THE AEGIS OF:(1) EDENBRIDGE HOSPITAL AND ITS HEALTHCARE AGENTS AND CONTRACTORS FOR THE TIME BEING ENGAGED FOR THEPURPOSES OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE HEALTHCARE FUNCTION OF EDENBRIDGE HOSPITAL; AND(2) ANY NEW OR EXISTING FACILITY, ORGANISATION, BODY OR ENTITY (HOWSOEVER CONSTITUTED) THAT DE JURE OR DEFACTO ASSUMES OR SEEKS TO DISCHARGE THE HEALTHCARE FUNCTION OF EDENBRIDGE HOSPITAL,PROVIDED THAT IN SO DOING THE LEAGUE SHALL NOT RELIEVE THE NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE OF ANY OF ITSSTATUTORY OBLIGATIONS WITH RESPECT TO THE HEALTHCARE FUNCTION OF EDENBRIDGE HOSPITAL.

**Activities:** The Friends of Edenbridge Memorial Health Centre supports the new health centre, opened in November 2023, upon the closure of the Edenbridge Memorial Hospital. It provides funds and equipment to pay for those items/services for which the NHS is unable to pay. Its main objective is to support local NHS services  and to fundraise in the community so as to fund essential support.
