ended 31 December 2024.

resident in the parishes olGrindleton and Rathmell.

2011 to have du¢ regard to the public benefit guidanc¢ published by the Charity Cotnmission for
England and Wales.

After many y¢ars of dedi¢atcd service to Grindlcton AlJnshous¢s, Margaret Tippets resigned from
her mle as clerk in September 2024, due to ill health. Claire Cowking> a trustee of the Charity
since 2010. has agreed io take over Margaret's duties.
Long serving chainnan of the tNstees, Donald Wilson, has d￿lded that, as the charity would be
upddring various inforn)ation to report the ¢hanges in Trustee to interested parties, li would be a
good time for hin) rcsigm as a trusl¢e as he too was struggling with ill hea]th. As Donald was the
Chairnian of the trustees, 1¢ was necessary to appoini a new Chair￿rS0n. Andrea Wilkinson, a
trnst¢¢ of the ¢harity since 2008, was unanimously a¢ccpied as th¢ new ¢hairy)erson.
Th¢ ¢harity has approa¢h¢d SUAtable individuals io assess Ih¢iY willingness to act as Irus(e¢s for
the charity. Sarah Whilwell and Louise Bolion were officially appointed as trustees 0610212025.

Sarah has pr¢viously acted as a trustee of the Grindl¢ton Almshouses but resigned when her work
took her out of the area for a while.
'lThere were no changes in residents at the aln)shous¢s or ih¢ t¢nant$ at Sionehill during the twelve
months in question.
The reni arr¢ars owed for Stonehill are b¢ing dductcd from invoices for gard¢ning S￿1¢¢$ on a
regular basis. At the 3111212024 the outstanding debt has reauced from £2,380 to £820. We
expect this amouni to be paid by in full by Augusr 2025.
Thc almshouses have been well maintained during the year at a cost of £6,147 for generdl
maintenance and repairs compared wryth £5,529 for 2023.
We r¢poried last year that we expected to re-roof the Sionehill renthl prop¢rties during 2024.
Delays in ihe ¢ontractor commencing th¢ work due to illnesy meant thai the work was not started.
We Sought independent advice from a conservation arLhitecr who told us ihai ihe roof nceded io
b¢ rcpaired but a full re-rix)f should noi be required. New quotes will be requested for this work.
Costs for maintenance and repairs at Stonehill in 2024 w¢r¢ £5,095 versus to £5,433 tn 2023.

The accounts lor the year to 31si Deccmber, 2024 show an income from ordinary a¢tivitics of
£55,816 and an expenditure of £18,945.
A long terni investment with Skipton Financial Servi¢¢s was tratL8ferred to St James's Place
during ihe y¢ar. A gain on this investment of £205.245 was r¢alised in ihe financial year as thc
investmcnt was valued at C081 in ihe accounts. The gain had accnied ovcr the life of the
invesrmeni.
The Trust holds cagh wid bank assets with Barelays Bank, £55.644 and with Skipton Building
Soci¢ty> £52,295. In addition, the Tn￿t holds invcstmenis through M & Q Securities valued ai
£61,239. a bonLI with Skipton Building Society, £34,188, and an invesiment with St lames's
Place of £739,669. The buildings owned by Ihc Trust were valued al £1,870,000 in May 2007,
together wilh 77 aer¢5 of land.
