The trustees present their report and accounts for the year ended 31st December 2025.

Governance

The trustees who have served during the year and since the year end are set out below:

Trustees meet as required to discuss the charity’s affairs. Trustees may serve indefinitely and new trustees may be co-opted by existing trustees.

Objectives

The charity’s governing document is a trust deed dated 14[th] December 1911 as amended by resolution dated 18[th] November 2024. The charity’s objectives are:

A.TO ADVANCE THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND FAITH FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC FOR THE INHABITANTS OF THE PARISH OF BLETCHINGLEY AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS; B.TO PROMOTE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE PARISH OF BLETCHINGLEY AND THE SURROUNDING AREA THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION OF INDIVIDUALS IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITION OF LIFE OF THE SAID INHABITANTS PROVIDED THAT THE USE OF SUCH FACILITIES IS CONSISTENT WITH THE DOCTRINE AND PRINCIPLES OF THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND. C.SUBJECT TO CLAUSE 3 AND 10 OF THE INDENTURE DATED 14 DECEMBER 1911, THE LAND AND BUILDINGS FORMERLY KNOWN AS THE CHURCH ROOM AND NOW KNOWN AS THE BLETCHINGLEY VILLAGE HALL ARE DESIGNATED LAND MUST BE USED FOR THE ABOVE CHARITABLE PURPOSES.

Review of activities

The charity has had a satisfactory year and continued to recover from the disruption caused by the Covid lockdown period. Both halls were well used during the year for the benefit of the residents of Bletchingley and the surrounding area.

The charity has no employees and therefore no employee costs were incurred during the year. None of the trustees (or any persons connected with them) received any remuneration or benefits during the year.

Financial review

During the year, incoming resources of £74,619 were received and £32,005 was expended. Out of the net income of £42,614 a transfer of £35,000 was made to the long term building fund and the balance transferred to the general fund. The net current assets at the end of year amounted to £480,258.

Reserves

The reserves amounted to £480,258 at 31[st] December 2025.

1 Principal accounting policies

Basis of accounting

The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Charities Act 2011.

The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention on the accruals basis.

2 Fixed assets

Fixed assets consist properties at 76 to 78 High Street, Bletchingley, Surrey owned by the trust. As trustees do not have the right to dispose of these properties without reference to the Charity Commissioners, they have not been given a value for accounting purposes.

3 Long term building fund

The long term building fund is designed to cover a major part of the eventual replacement of the aged properties owned by the trust. The activities of the trust are essentially to provide premises for community use, primarily in the Parish of Bletchingley, but also for people and organisations from a wider geographical area.

This report is on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 31st December 2025, which are set out on pages 1 and 2.

Respective Responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner

The Charity's Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The Charity's Trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
