The trustees present their annual report ak)ry ￿￿th the financial statemerrts of the charrty for the year
ended 31 December 2024.
The finan¢ral statements have been prepargj in accordance with Ihe accounting policies set out on
pages 8 and 9 and comply ￿￿th the charrtls ru￿, the Chant*s Act 2011 and the requirements of the
Slalemenl of Recommended Pradi¢e. rekvant to charrtw preparing Ihwr accounts in accofdance wrth
the Financial Reporting Standard appIThb￿ in the UK and Republ￿ of Ireland IFRS1021.

The charity is an unincorpoiated a$s¢X￿lIon go￿rn￿ by its ru* and is a registered charty. number
229527. The eharty was first registered in 1964.
As sel out in the charitys rules. Ihe association shall consisl of memters from whom a President. V￿-
President and Commrttee ol Management shall ￿ elected. Any person wishing to jcAn the association
must be pr¢wsed, sewnded and elecled at a General or C¢)mmrtlee Meeling.
Oblectlves and acllvltl•s
The objects of the chanty are to encourage those emplo>ed in agricutture and to &vard prvzes for skill in
Ploughing wlh Commerck41 Tractors. Vintage Trxtors and H￿eS The charity also awards prties for
excellence in Crop Husbandry in Cereals. Peas, 8eans, Top Frurt, Potatoes and Vegetsbles. The charity
also awards prrLes for Fam Workers who have &hieved peric*Js of Long Service exceeding 25 years
and 40 yeaTS. The charty also awns to e(ILKale the General PublK in the fundamentals of Agriculture,
with special emphasis on the education of Children. The eharity also aims lo impart a greater
understanding on the relat￿nShiP bets￿en Famiing and the Environment.
The area of operation and benefrt continues lo bè that of East Kent.

Pot & I received a hond wrrtten letter in the Autumn of 2022 fr(￿ Connan Hawarden. offering a sile for
the ploughing match. The last time rt was here was in 2006 and the firsl time was in 1995. Many thanks
lo the Hawarden family, the Maude famity and Robert SFencer for thi8 year.
The fields selected went into Spring barky and I￿re combined and baled in very g¢)od order Thank
you the Nailbourne Team and Robert. With rain almost every day the week before hand, the ploughing
ondrttons were perfecl Rain was scheduw lo be bwj on the day Somehow we gol away wrth just a
sharp shower al lunch time. The cars got onto the srte and we managed to get everyone off. We had lo
Icw 1 coach To quote Connan". "gc%l must be a pbughmanl" Conscious of Pal's problems wrth the
rtxkel, l Came armed wrth 2. Wrth 15 minutes before launch. I was stood down by Geoff -'Ihe
ploughman are anxths lo crack on, forget the r(xket. we woukj like them 10 Start" .1 wa5 devaslaled.
The evenl produced some f*rce compe1rt￿n. Stephen Batchelor emerging lriumphanl again as our
champKJn ploughman.

As you know. we have had considerable prLrt)lems ￿th Itaffic management and this has continued. They
put the direction sHJns In the wrong Pla￿ to stsrt vhth. and then not all of them. The parkers were very
inexperienced not helped by being in a daze from smoking dope on the day To round off. they have not
returned our signs. I have e-mailed Tom Owen of Elrte Traff￿ Manaoemenl expressing how
disappointed l am, and am not prepared lo pay the bill until we get our signs and some compensation for
th8 twrible seryice on the day.
The traffic lights, which were insisted on by Kent H￿hWays. $eNed no pract￿al purpose except to extend
wailing limes 10 gel on srte. This was frustrating and totally unnèossary in ffly ¢Jpinw.
Despite the weather and traffic issues. sland holyers and visrtors seemed happy wrth the day. wrth bts of
nice comments. This is all down to you the commrttee. the volunteers who help and all oui sponsors.
Special thanks go lo Nick. my righthand man. who has simpty been brilliant. Thankyou lor your lime and
mrnltmenl. To Andrew Kerr, I rnusl also offer thanks. Ihe laying out of the si18 was Immaculately done,
which was real￿ appreciated by the marquee cc¥np8nies and sland hoklers. To Geoff. the ploughing
team and ol course Brian and Loma. E$pecialty L￿na who has had lo tske the brunt of the calls and e-
mails and has lo deal ￿th me!
Another star this yeai has been Sophie Evans, has taken over the trophy collectic)n, storage and
documenting of winners If I have not named you spe¢rf￿a1ty. you are not left out Everyone In thi$ room
shoukl feel proud of this year's match. wh￿h Y+e managed lo drag atioss the finishing lino despite
numorous problems.

The trustees aim to maintain free reserves in unrestricted funds at a level which equ8198 10
approximate￿ tsvo years of unrestricted charrtable expendrture. The trustees con$NJer that th￿ level will
provide $Ltfficienl funds to ensure Ihal the level of resources expended is covered.

The trustees consider the board ol trustees as wnprising the key management personnel of the charrty
in charge of directing and controlling the chanty and running and operating the chaiity on a day lo day
