and hardship. In addition. the Scheme that governs the operation of the
charity specifically allows for th8 promotion of the efficiency of the Amied
Forces. The charity therefo￿ is able to award initial've, support
8dventurous training, sport and oth6r welfare activities which are not
adequately, or diredy, provid8d for from Public Funds. Thus the
Govemmonys prime responsibility of providing Defence of tha Raalth Is
enhanced, resulting in a direct benefit to the public.
