## **Totton and District Three Score Club**

## **Trustees’ Report for year ending 31st December 2023**

The Club continued to provide a mixture of events and activities for members who are all over the age of 60 and who live in Totton and the surrounding area. These activities and events are provided at very low cost due to the leadership of the volunteers who run the sessions.

Membership remained has fallen to just under 300 with a continued turn over and new members replacing those who left.

The Club made a small loss in the year of £1,539 year.

Investments in the unit trusts fluctuated with the market but remained in a good position and some units were sold to realise the gains in their value whilst keeping the total value above the amount originally invested.

Volunteers continue to maintain the building and its decoration.

The Club continued to run a number of special events which were well supported by the members as well as the regular activities. It also organised two Christmas dinner sessions for over 100 members to enjoy a Christmas Lunch. There were also days out and UK based holidays.

ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2023

## **TOTTON AND DISTRICT THREE SCORE CLUB**

## **INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE MEMBERS OF TOTTON AND DISTRICT THREE SCORE CLUB FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2023**

We have examined the accounts on pages 3 to 5, which have been prepared under the historical cost convention.

This report is made solely to the Club's members, as a body. Our examination has been undertaken so that we might state to the Club's members those matters we are required to state to them in an Independent Examiner's report and for no other purpose.

## **RESPECTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CLUB AND THE EXAMINER**

The Club's constitution requires that proper books of account be kept which disclose, with reasonable accuracy, the Club's income and expenditure and its assets and liabilities. It is our responsibility to form an independent opinion, based on our examination, on the accounts prepared from these records and to report our opinion to you.

## **SCOPE OF THE EXAMINATION OF THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS**

An Independent Examination includes examination, on a test basis, of evidence relevant to the amounts and disclosures in the accounts. It also includes an assessment of the significant estimates and judgments made by the Club's officials in the preparation of the accounts, and of whether the accounting policies are appropriate to the Club's circumstances, consistently applied and adequately disclosed.

We planned and performed our examination so as to obtain all the information and explanations which we considered necessary in order to provide us with sufficient evidence to give reasonable assurance that the accounts are free from material misstatement, whether caused by fraud or other irregularity or error.

In forming our opinion we also evaluated the overall adequacy of the presentation of information in the accounts.

## **OPINION**

In our opinion the accounts give a true and fair view of the state of the Club's affairs as at 31 December 2023 and of its surplus for the year then ended, and have been properly prepared in accordance with its constitution.
