20.1 SCHEME.. The Pensions Trust- The Growth Plan
Strode Park Foundation Parti￿pateS in the scheme, a mulli*mployer scheme ¥thi¢h provides benefits to some
638 non-associated participating employers. The scheme Is a defined benefit 5cherne in the UK. It is noi
possible lor the company to obtain sufficient information lo enable It tc ac(xunt for the scheme as a defined
benefrt scheme. Thertfore It account5 for the scheme as a defined contribution scheme.
The seheme 1$ subject to thè funding legislation outlined in the Pensions Act 2004 which came into force on 30
Dec£mber 2005. Thi$, together with do¢Jments Issued by the Pensions Re9ulator and Technical Actuarial
Standards Issued by the Financial Reporting Council, set out the framework for funding defined benefit
occupational pension schemes In the UK.
The scheme Is classified as a 'last-man standing arran9ement'. Therefore the Wfnpany is potentially liable for
other participating employers, obligations If Ih05e employers Sre unable to meet their Sha￿ of the scheme
deficit ft)Ilowng withdrawal frorn the scherne. Participating employers are legally required to meet their share of
the scheme defiat on 8n annuity purchase basis on ¥Mthdrawal from the s¢heme.
A full actuarial valuation for the scheme was carr￿d out at 30 September 2020. This valuation showed as$els
of £800.3rn. liabilities of £831.9m and a deficit of £31.6m. To eliminate this funding shortfall. the Trustee has
asked the participating employers lo pay additional contributions lo the scheme as follows"
