APERFIELD W.I. TRUSTEES REPORT 2022-2023
CHARITY No. 227738
We belong to a National Organisation who claim part of your annual subscription to support Head Office They organise and implement Resolutions (which we vote on) and they are kept informed of our membership list by our MCS rep.
Our WI is continuing to go from strength to strength, we were pleased to welcome 9 new members, all our meetings average 75% attendance.
All our activities yoga, line dancing, rambles, ambles, theatre, craft afternoons and lunch clubs are flourishing and some activities have a waiting list.
Our late Queens Platinum Jubilee was celebrated with a BBQ and a singer to entertain. The singer was so liked we invited her to entertain us at our Christmas meeting, it was good to see our member up dancing.
We have had speakers at our meeting who have given excellent talks on a variety of subjects, Lewis Bonfire Nights, The story of English Cheeses, to name a few.
Our hall hasn’t had such a good year, a new pre-school took over from the previous pre-school, and it has been slow to attract pre-school children.
Our hall is successfully hired out during the afternoon and evening for a all nature of activities, but we have found that due to a restriction on bouncy castles in the hall, this is due to our sprung floor, children’s party aren’t as much in demand as previous years.
All our hall equipment has been serviced, throughout the year; fire extinguishers, boiler and PATS testing of electrical equipment. The outside of our hall has had a make-over and the wooden suffixes have been replaced with plastic. The old fences in front of the garden were replaced due to wind damage.
A gardener cuts the lawns and maintains the flower beds.
