## **Roydon Village Hall - Treasurer’s Report for the year ended 31st December 2025** 

I am pleased to report the finances of Roydon Village Hall (Registered charity 227643) continue to be healthy and there was a surplus of £5283.74 in 2025. On 31st December 2025 we held cash amounting to £63330.84 and the value of the investment with CCLA Investment Management was £2218.64. Giving a total of £85549.48. 

## **Income** 

Total income was £33536.16 in 2025 compared to £33177.77 in 2024 and represents an increase of £358.39 (1.1%). The variances were 

- Group hire reduced by £603.54 

- Private Hire increased by £406.20 

- Village Market income increased by £1130.13 

- Interest and dividends increased by £454.36 

- Fund raising increased by £800,00 

- There was a decrease in the value of our investment with CCLA by £1117.03 

- We received donations of £15.75 

## **Expenditure** 

Total expenditure was £28252.42 in 2025 compared to £16606.62 in 2024 which represents an increase of £11645.80 (70.1%). The main variances were 

- Repairs and maintenance increased by £6709.55 

- Gas & Electricity Increased by £665.22 

- Cleaning increased by £1372.79 

- New equipment costs were £1223.82 

- Internet/website costs increased by £344.41 

- Market Costs increased by £1130.55 

## **Investments** 

Interest rates reduced in 2025 and it looks probable that they will continue to reduce during 2026. Whilst it is disappointing that the value of CCLA investment reduced in 2025, I believe we should not panic with regard to its value but merely monitor the value on a regular basis.

I would like to express my thanks to Geoff Mason for completing his Independent Examination of the Accounts and also to the Art Show Team lead by Tim Collins & Sarah Seabrook who provide a valuable source of income to the Village Hall. 

## **Summary** 

The finances of the Village Hall remain healthy which will enable the charity to continue to complete repairs and improvements to the building which will benefit the residents of the Parish. Finally the Village Hall is owned by the Charity and Roydon Parish Council acts as the Custodian Trustee. The Parish Council has no say in the running of the Village Hall other than having a Councillor who is one of the Managing Trustees and acts in a personal capacity.
