Refurbishment works to the Mary Magdalene BUt￿lowS have continued throughout the )ear.
This has included internal refurbighrnents of 1990 Mary Magdalene bungalows wl*n they
became voij and prior to being rc-kt aJMI adaptations to occupied dwellings for ￿identS with
mobility and or other issu

ensuring that contriJyJtions were affordable given the increases in living costs. All Ma1￿¢nance

The organisation has eommeJKed a comprehensive refurbishmeul of the first floor of Vine
aNJ Provincial House building along with component repIacements and improvements to
collununal a￿$ throughout the building. It is expected that the refurbishment will finish in
S¢pteJnber 2024.

The Licensee (Residents) Committee is helping to itiyolve residents in the rnnning of the
organizatlon al￿ resident involvement is aD arca that the organisation pla￿8 to develop further.
The orgBniÈAtion joined tbe Almshouse Consortium in Dettmber 2023 and worked with the
Consortium durin8 thc year to draft a bid for submission lo Homes England frir grant fi]nding for
Ihe remode]ing of 6 of the 1950 M8ry Magdalene Bungalows. This included remodeiing I bed
bungalows into 2 bed bungalows. which will help address the demaDd on the orgjnisalion for 2
bedroom ￿0mModatIon. If funding is granted it 18 expected that the proFct will sfart in
st￿ernber 2024. If the project is successfvl. it is hoFxd thAt fvture fv￿lAg from HO￿￿Engla￿l
will be secured for similar schemes. This will help the organisation accelerate its plans for futUT¢
r¢sidential projccts as well as deliver better quajiry. more sustainable housing for the fvture.
