QUEENS corrAGES ALMSHOUSES Trustee's Re ort for the ear ended 31 December 2025 The Almshouses were built in 1897 in ￿lebratiOn of Queen Victoria's Jubilee by donations and land gift to house singlelwidowed women originally who were experiencing hardship. All applicants being residents of Heachani for at least 2 years and not being of ill health. Over the years the five properties have been updated and ;-enovated to maintain their standard, although because of shortage of funds there have been times when some properties fell in disrepair, Our Residents are pemiitted occupation under Licence. We started the year with 3 Trustees.. Mrs Delia Edwwards, Mrs Caroline Pishorn and Mr Peter Sutton. In 2025 two new Trustees were appointed, Mrs Philippa Sewell and Mr lan Morrison. Also 2025 saw the Commen￿Ment of the Electrical Test Reports (due every 5 years) for each Gottage. Next year the Quinquennial Reports are due. Unfortunately one of our Residents died at the end of the year and the search for a new Resident has begun. The income from Weekly mainti)nan￿ Contribution (also known as Rent) for 2025 was £25,104.05 which should be sufficient to ￿eet any further needs for the foreseeable future. We have a strong healthy Bank balance of £102,498.09 as at 31 December 2025 plus investments of £58,165.06.
