assistance had to be tumed down due to lack of available fi￿ds. However, looking forward, the financial position bas

in the next fin￿cial year with regard to work on rtrletting or Éhe sale of the asset which may affect our ability to respond
to applicaDts.

The net movement in fimds, after taking into account investment reVa]u￿10ns. was a gain of £297,234 (2023.. deficit
£12.378). The gtiin on invesmient revaluations wa5 £297,234 for tbe }'ear (2023: deficit £22.493) ￿ ti b¢cowe apparent
that the charittrs inveslment asset was significarntly undervalued in the acrouuts.
Investment policy and objectives
The ckwity's powers to invest are govemed only by the Trusiee InVestme￿t ACL 2001. The iThvestmenl policy of the
trustees tskes account of recent requests for as5isthnce and the qualits. of the applieatioDS. In &ppl)qng this policy the
truste¢s consider the Incon￿ requirements of the charity, the risk profile of its inv¢slm¢nts and markd prospects in the
medium terni. The overall polic> of thE trwsiee5 is that th¢ Capitsl Fund EDdoMTnent is to be invested in low and medium
riyk investments Mqth a view to Ensuring that the capitsl appreciation of the fimd typically exceeds intlation, &% M￿urEd
ov¢r peri(th of three to five years at a time. and the utrestrlc￿I fimds are to be substalltially invested readily
realisable &ssets. The wvestrACted fijnds may ￿ invested in any type of inYestrnenL
Reserves policy
It is the policy of the trustoe5 to mov¢ the level of the free reserves of the charity to at a level which equates to
approximately twelve ￿OnthS anticipated unrestricted expenditijre. This should provide sufficient fL]nds io cover
anag¢menL adrninistration and support costs alld io respond to wuests for emergency assistance whi¢h aTise from
time to time.
The free reserves (being unrestricted fjmds not invested in fjxed &s5ets) wcre £95,567 as at 5th April 2024 (2024..
£101,896). The tsustees believe that the cllarity ba5 suffici¢llt res¢ry¢s to n)eet the anticipated demand for assistgnce for
the foreseeable future.
FUTURE PLANS

Currently there are 4 trustees. Replacement ttl￿ees are usuaIly hdentified by the Chaimw and the other trustees.
The criteria a￿ that any new trllstee shou]d possess experiellce (which may take various forms. e.g. Con￿E￿ial,
financiaL mediation) and Iwl knowledge which are lTri el￿ to benefrt the charity. ThE aPP￿)yal alld appointtn¢nt of all
new trustees is the responsibffility of Garwave Parish Council. Th¢ n¢w tnLSt¢es are trained by the existing trustees.
Risk management
The trnstees have examined the major SLrategi4 business and operational risks which the dwity faces and confjm that
they keep the incidence of these risks under review. They will proc4Jre appropriate and tllllely professional reports in
