The fund was established over 50 years ago. but can trace its origin back to 1895 when Reddttch District Nursing Association and the legacy of a local fishing tackle manufacturer were registered as charrties. The aim of the fund is to provide aid. in the form of goods. to those persons who are experiencing drficulty or hardship due to short or long term illness. The person must live within Redditch Borough Council and qualrfy for assistance. In carrying out the objectives as de￿rIbed, the trustees have complied wth their duty in section 5 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to public benefit guidan￿ published by the Charity Commission. Section D Achievements 2nd performance During the year 9 grant applications were received from individuals refe￿ed by Health and Social staff to the amount of £3,627. Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year The trustees agreed to sell the CCLA investrnent portfolio and make donations to local charities fulfilling activities similar to that of our own. The sale was valued at £205.839. Monetary donations were distributed to 15 local organisations amounting to £110,000. Trustees will continue to meet to discuss distribLrtion of the remaining fund arising on the sale of Redditch Aid in Sickness Fund's investment asset. TAR March 2012
