The Charity is govemed by a Scheme of the Charity Commission dated 8 July 1971. It is constituted as a trust; apart from the Rector, who is ex-officio, 8 trustees are appointed by the parish councils of Bedale, Aiskew with Leeming and Crakehall and 16 are elected. The objects of the charity are: To relieve either generally or individually persons resident in the area of the parishes of Aiskew and Leeming Bar, Bedale, Burrill with Cowlingi Crakehall, Firbyi Langthorne and Rand Grange who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress by making grants of money or providing or paying for items, services or facilities calculated to reduce the need, hardship or distress of such persons. During the year the charity made grants of £7652.73 to meet those objerts. A small part of one of the fields was sold as garden for a considerable uplift on its agricultural value; another part of the same field was let for 9 months as a compound for an adjacent building site for significant uplift on its agricultural rent. Work continued on preparing to transfer the assets to the Bedale Welfare Charity CIO 1206644 and the charity will merge with the CIO in 2025. I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 30/09/2024.

Responsibilities and As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation basis of report of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
