The Robinson's Relief Trust was crealed in 1833 under Samuel Robinson'5 Will for the benefit of Independeni and Baptisl Ministers. either married men or widowers. residenl in England and Wales. In 1986 a scheme was approved for ihe two charilies to be administered iogyelher under th¢ title of Robinson s Retreal and Relief Charities. The Trust Deed requires the Trusle¢s to apply the income in relieving need either generally or individually by making grants of money or providing or paying for items. services or faciliiies calculat¢d to reduce the need, hardship or distress of ￿nefIciarieS. The body of Trustees consisls. when complete. of eight competenl persons of whom al the time of their resp¢¢live apwintments four shall be Elders or Deacons of Churches of the United Refornied Church. one shall k an Elder or a Deacon of a non-unitinb Congyregational Church and three shall bc Elders or Deacons of Baptist Churches. Clause 25 of ihe Trusi Dttd gives pennission for the cosls of the anniversary dinner to be charged againsi the income of the Tn￿t. TRUSTEES, REPORT The Truslees present their re￿rt for the year ended 30 November 2024. The Truslees met during the year and considered the level of granls lo be paid in the financial year in the light of the economic outlook and tsking into accounl the pern)ission granted by the Charity Commission in July 2021 for the Charity lo expend up lo £IOO,000 of Pernianenl Endo￿nent in order lo maintain the level of girants to beneticiaries. 'fh¢y decided to mainlain individual grants at the same level as the pr¢vious year. The results for the year sel oui below show thal investment income amounted to £110.654 (2022123 £104.321). Individual grants were made to 30 benefi¢iari¢s totalling £119.992 (2022123 30 iotalling £125.527) during the year, ranging from £1,500 to £6.(KK). As a result. there was a deficil of £1 0,922 (2022123- £22.616) on Revenue Account for the year. This deficit has been set againsi the Pernianent EndothThents, as pennitted by the Charity Commission's rulin¥ referred lo above. We record. with grateful thanks. the work undertaken by Elizabeth Lawson and her fellow trustees, who are appointed in accordance with clause 20 of the Trusi Deed, in the asse5sm¢nl and dislribulion of these grants. The administration expenses continue to be very low, as all tasks are perfonned by the Trustees, who receive no remuneration. nor are they reimbursed expenses. It is ihe ry)licy of the Truslees lo balance the obje¢lives of the investments betw¢en growth in the pern)anent endownents and the need for revenue income to fund grants.
