The Area of Benefit of the AssociatiOEJ is d¢fined as Milnrhorpe. Flevershani, Beetham and Kendal.
The objects of ihe charity are:
To provide almshouses for poor persoTrs of good char8Cter who are noi less than 50 years of age aiid who have resided in
the civil parishes of the Milnthorpe. Heversharn and Beetham and the Bofough ot-Kendal for not less ihan two years.
Ma￿ted couples who are otherwise qualified as aforesaid shall be eligible for appointmeni provid¢d thar one of them 15
ot l¢ss than 50 years of age.
The ch8rity owns and let5 6 properties.
The twstees have had regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit.

During the course of the last year there have been changes to the number of TrusÉee5. ihe Tesignatioii of two of the
Charity's long standing TTUStee's. However. the three remaining TtU5tee's have embarked on a project of mLKlernisation of
Ihe almshouse properties of which includes repair5, an(Vor adaption of all the tottages. as well as Ihe L￿18¢. The Tnjstee's
have health and safety as the focus, together with the Te5idents well-being, and h2ve in addition embarked on a project of
repair and maintenance of ihe driVe￿aY. This will include proposals foF de5ignated'bay' parking 10 ensure safety and
a¢cESS for emeT8en¢y vehicles. of which will be completed in the iiext fJRan¢ial year. Th¢ Trustees hai'e a very positiv¢
outlook for the fi]ture of the Charity. and hope to iecruit further Tru5te¢s in the ttext financial year, who are motivated
with the same v21ues. and hands on approach and they are.
Financial Review
Contributions from residents were £24,990 compared to £22.182 last year. with inv¢sttnent income of £61812022- £5951.
Expenses were £1 0.143 down from £SO,036 last year reflecting the work% undertaken in (lie prevlous y¢ar. As a resuli
cash at bank increase$ froTn £9,293 to £24,758 at 31 Deceinber 2023. There was also a increase in th¢ market va14]e of the
investtneiits due to rnarket conditions which meant that the market value of the investments at 31 December 202J, from
£159,496 to £178,599.
The charity investments are priinarily held to futtd mainrenance and repairs.

The ch8riiy is an ynincorporaied Association with a constitution detennined by a Scheme of the Charity Coininissioners
date 15 November 1966.
The properties are Managed by Milne Moser who also keep the necessary accounts and attend generally to ihe affairs of
the charity.
The trustees have regular meetings with Milne Moser to ensure the proper management (Trf the charity-
The trustee bod￿ consists ofsix competent persons who may be appoinied for a term of five years by a re501uiion of the
Trustee5 at a special meeting. The new t￿ste¢ must then sign tn the minute book of the Trustee5 a declardtion of
acceptance and of willingttess to act.
Thete must be at leasi one general Ineeting per year. Special n)tetings may be summoned at any time by the Chairman or
any two trustee5 wilh four day% noti¢c.
New tnjsiees are briefed on the charity and iheir role by the existing Ttustees and Milne Moser aEJd giv¢tJ a copy of the
