All trustees are persons living In the area of benefice or associaled with the area of benefi appointed by the other trustees for a term of five years. Any persons wishing to be considered as a trustee may submit a written note to the Clerk at the principal office with reasons why slhe would be helpful to the Charity- The application would be Gonsidered al the next time the trustees meet but appointment may have to await a vacancy arising. Training occurs on the job. informally. There were no new trustees during the year. Decislon Making This is the corporate responsibility of the trustees who meet at least twice per year as business demands. Some practical decisions may have to be taken between meetings by the Chairman and Vice Chaimian acting jointly. Consultation may occur by e-mail with other trustees and be reported at the next meeting. Objects of tho Charity These were modernised by a scheme on 27th July 2009 when the Charity amalgamated with the Grindleton Lane Ends Educational Charity. The Charity has two objeGts- a) Relief of persons resident in the Parish of Grindleton who are in need. hardship or distress b) To promote education for under 25s for persons resident in the Parish of Grindleton l or whose parents are so resident) Assots 20 acres of grazing land at Harrop let on an Annual Grazing Lin 1 and 2 Harrop Fold let at market rentals 3 Pendle view let at a low cost renl as part of the tenets of this Charity until January 2025 and thereafter phased to a market rent. 4 Pendle View is let at a market rent. Resorves Total funds of £1.228,050 are held by the charity at the year 8nd. This is made up of £1,203,000 in investment property assets, with £11.934 long term liabilities and bank monies of £25,050 in undesignated and unrestricted funds. There was a net deficit of £4.553 for the year end.
All incomg frorn the assets are for distribution towards the airns of the Charity or for accumulation for further charitable projects. Regular reviews are made. What the Charity achieved in 2024 Mr N. Millward is the contact for the tenants. He commissions work needed with suitable contractors. 12 further educational grants totaling £12,000 were made. £250 was awarded to Grindleton Playgroup- early leaning. The trustees have considered the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit and believe Ihat the actions of the charity have been in this regard for the financial year. What the Charlty hopes to achieve In 2025 To continue to streamline the monitoring of the assets and arranging Ihe repairs. To review any investment opportunities consistent with its Objects.
Independent Examlner's Report to the Trustees of Grindleton Consolidated Charities Registered Charlty number 221642 I reporl to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of Grindleton Consolidated Charities for the year ended 31 December 2024. Res onsibilities and basis of re ort As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirement5 of the Charities Act 20111'the Act'l. I report in respect of my examination of the Trtjst's accounts tarried out under Section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all applicable Directions given by the Charitv Commission under Section 14515llbl of the Act. Inde endent examiner's statement I have completed my examination. I confirm that no materlal matters have come to my attention In connection with the examination 8iving me cause to believe that in any material respect- accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by Section 130 of the Act; or the accounts do not accord with those record5- or the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the fomi and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the account5 give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. I have no concerns and have come across no other matter5 in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understandin8 of the accounts to be reached.
