Any persons wishing to be considered as trustee may submit a written note to the Clerk al the principal office with reasons why slhe would be helpful to the Charity. The application would be considered at the next time the trustees meet but appointment may have to await a vacancy arising. Training occurs on the job, infomially. There were no new trustees during the y&ar. Dacision Making This is the corporate responsibility of the trustèes who meet at least twi￿ per year as business demands. Some pradical decisions may have to be taken between meetings by the Chaimian and Vice Chairman. Consultation may occur by e-maill and reported at the next meeting. Objects of the Charity These were modemised by a scheme on 27th July 2009 when the Charity amalgamated with the Grindleton Lane Ends Educational Charity. The Charity has two obj8Cts- a} Relief of persons resident in the Parish of Grindleton who are in need. hardship or distress b) To promote education for under 25s for persons resident in the Parish of Grindleton ( or whos8 parents are so resident) Assets 20 acres of grazing land at Harrop let on an Annual Grazing Licènce 1 and 2 Harrop Fold let at market renlals 3 Pendle view let at a low cost rent as part of tho tgnets of this Charity until August 2023 and thereafter at a market rent. Due to the preceding Covid situation, this was still to remain al the low rent figure. To be reviewed at next meeting. 4 Pendle let at a low marf(8t renl until 8 Nov 21 and thereafter at a market rent Reserves Total funds of £945,139 are held by the charity at the year end. This is made up of £915,536 in investment property assets. with £23,312 long term liabilities and bank monies of £29,603 in undesignated and unrestricted funds. There was a net loss of £2,735 at the year end. All income from the assets are for distribution towards the aims of the Charity or for accumulation for further charitable projects. Regular reviews are made.

What the Charity achieved in 2023 The Charity let and managed the assets for its Objects in house including repairs and renewals as needed. The Charity is paying off the mortgage to Kingdon Bank at a faster rate especially as repaymént rates nationally have risen. 14 Further Educational grants at £1,000 granted totaling £14,000 were approved but one student did not proceed to University and on8 Staried but pulled out very eady on due to ill health and repaid her £1.000. All activities were undertaken to further the charity's purposes for the public benefit, with regard to the Charity Commission's guidan￿. What the Charity hopes to achieve in 2024 To continue to streamline the monitoring of the assgts arKI arranging the repairs. To review any investment opportunities consistènt with its Objects.

Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Grindleton Consolidated Charities Registered Charity number 221642 We report on the Financial Statements of the Charity for the year ended 31 December 2023 which are set out on pages 2 and 3. Res ctive res nsibilities of Trustees and Examiner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consi(ler that an audit is not required for this year under section 144121 of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is our responsibility to: examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act- to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioner under section 1451511bl of the 2011 Ad; and to state whether particular matter5 have come to my attention Basis of Inde ndent Examinerfs re Our examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions glven by the Charity Commissioner. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the Accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any Uf)U5ual items or disclosures in the Accounts and seeking explanations from you a5 trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently we do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the Accounts.
