## **THE ANNUAL REPORT & AUDITED ACCOUNTS OF THE TRUST - JULY 2023 TO JUNE 2024**

**Awards Ceremony** : This was once again a successful and very well-attended event. The 4 Recipients were:
- _The Main Award –_ Kirkby TANGO (£7,500) based in the Church at the Centre in Kirkby Town and is supported by an ecumenical group of ten local churches giving food, clothing, and other support. The project is reliant on a team of volunteers who give generously of their skills and of their time.
- _Volunteer of the Year –_ The Revd Dr Taras Khomych (£200 gift voucher and £1,000 to his charity of choice which was the Big Help) for his work as Chair of the Liverpool Ukrainian Association notably pastoral care, practical support & resettlement, of Ukrainians and support for the Eurovision events.
- _Scholarship –_ Albert Osei of the Tsedequah Community based at the Cathedral (£2,000). for work with the Micah Project, the liturgical and support assistance at the Cathedral & community action.
- _Woman of the Year –_ The Revd Dr Sheryl Anderson, the Chair of the Liverpool Methodist District and Joint President of Churches Together in the Merseyside Region (£200 gift voucher and £1,000 to the charity of her choice which was the Liverpool based Methodist project based at the Bread Church on Bold St in Central Liverpool called Church Action on Sexual Abuse Issues (CASAI).
The 30[th] Anniversary of Women Priests in the Church of England was marked by Presentations to two of those women pioneers strongly associated with the Trust namely the Revd Sr Norma Nelson CA (a former Trust’s _Women of the Year)_ and the Revd Canon Cynthia Dowdle OBE (The Trust’s Honorary Treasurer).
**Joint Activities with the Mothers’ Union.** The trust continues to be delighted to support the two Eucharists planned by the Mothers’ Union to commemorate Trafficking and Domestic Abuse. These are open events and anyone wishing to attend should contact the Liverpool Diocesan Mothers’ Union Office or the Trust.
**Partnership:** The Trust continues to be grateful for the support of its three partners – Liverpool Cathedral, the Liverpool Diocesan Mothers’ Union, and Liverpool Hope University with close links with our trustees.
**Leaflets:** a new supply of the leaflet written by Canon the Revd Dr God Garner has been purchased for distribution to interested parties notably in the Josephine Butler Hub in the Cathedral’s Lady Chapel.
**Thanks:** we want to thank our retiring trustee the Revd Tabitha Rao; plus, our efficient & helpful Auditor. Peter Morris. BA, DChA. We welcome new trustees: Revd Lilly Nelson, Jacque Reid, & Caroline Collins.

Independent Examiner’s Report to the trustees on my examination of the financial statements of the Charity for the year ended 31 July 2024
## Responsibilities and basis of the report
The trustees are responsible for the preparation the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011. The trustees consider that an audit is not required for the year under examination.
I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s financial statements carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(50(b) of the Act
## Independent examiners statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or
2. the financial statements do not accord with those records; or
3. the financial statements do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and contents of the accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
