At 31 August 2025 the net currer*L unrestricted. 855ets of the Circuit were £157,34512024.' £1646751, compared with total revenue
expenditure forthe year of E284,37612024'. £437,227, which includes sydnificant expenditure on the Be8¢onthorpè property followln8 th
fire not refunded by Methodist Insurance).
The Circuit employs three full-tirne rnini5ters. These ministers are supported by one pastora asslstant, nine supernurnerary ministers. four
dedicated Csrtult stewards and two parttime adrnini5trators. The ortuit supports the ministry of a youth and cornmunity church Hnrf a
charitable housing project for elderly people within the Grim5by area. Acts of worship take place at each of the churche5 ewery Sunday.
apart from Healing which Is every other5unday, supported by local preachers and worship leaders.

TO actively consider the role of thurch mis%on in the North East Lin¢oln5hlre area and how best to use the resource5 available to serve the
community by preparing for the introduction of Icircuitlchurch.
Churches are Encouraged to prayerfully consider the way fvtward of the circuit.

management of the Circuit Is undertaken by the Clrcuit Leadership team Icompri%nE the presbytef5 antl Cirtult stewards) and the Lotal
Preachers meetlng.

A range of guidance is produted by Methodist Connexion to support the effective running of the CircuiL including the leallet rhe Role of
Trustee in The Methodist Church,.

Major risks. both physltal and financial, are identifled and recorded and professional adwice taken as required. There 1$ a reeular annual
review Pro￿5$ undertaken and recorded.
Income and Expenditure is monltored in total and is compared wtth the approved annual budget to deteet trends as part of the risk
management prO￿$S to avold unforeseen calls on reserves.

The Circuit wll respond without delayto every complaint made which suggests that an adulL rhlld or young person may have been

The Clrcult wlll seek to work with anyone who has suffered abuse, developing with them an appropriate mlnlstry of informed
pastoral care.
The Circuit will seek to challenge any abuse of power, especlally by anyone in a p051tion of trust

The Reserves Policy forthe Circuit is to hold approximately 50% of the average expenditure. This should besuffi¢lentto meet any unforeseen
item of major expenditure on manses and / or to be able to continue. in the shortterrn, fundlng planned actiwties in the event of the failure
of churches to meet their quarterly assessment liabilities in full.

the 2019 version of Accounting and ReportinE by Charities.. Statement of RÈcommended practi￿ ISORPI applicable to charitles preparing
their accounts in accordance with FRS102 applicable in the UK and in line with guidelines Issued by The Methodist Church. Accounts are
currently produced on the Accrual basis in spite of annual overall income in m05t years not exceeding the £250.000 limf( which would allow
accounts to be prepared using the Simpler Receipt5 and Payments basss. In other years however income from Sale of a55et5 doe5 tske the
overall Income above the £250.OCklllmltwhen Accrual accounts have to be prepared. Forea5e of under5tandingthe accountswe have opted
to use one ¢onsistÈnt basis-lhe Accrua15 basis in spite of the additlonal workload and complexity involved.

Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation ol thè accounts in
accordance with the reqU1￿ments of the Charities Act 2011 1.the Act,).
I report in respect of my eyaminalion of the Trusvs accounts carried out vnder Section 145 of the
Act and in carrying oul my examination I have followed all applicable Directions given by the
Chaiity Commission undef Section 14515llbl of the Act.

accordance with the Financlal ReporElng Standard for Smèller Entities applicable in the UK. and in line with guideltnes 155ued
by the Methodist Church. The Circuit Is cla55rfied as a 5rnall entity and Tevenues In most years fall below the £250,000 criteria
for producing accwal actounts. However ès sales of assets in other years then tske income above the threshold for the sake
of consistency accrual accounting has been adopted in spite of the iDCTeased workload involved.
2 Funds
The funds held Include General Fund5 held for any purpose ol the Circult which ère Unrestricted. the Circuit Model Trust Fund
which has wide purposes defined in Standing Orders and is categorised as Unrestrlcted. Restricted funds which ère held for a
narrower purpose and are listed in the fin31 Note below 3nd Endowrnent funds whirh are also Ilsted in that Note. Any funds
may be represented by rnore than just cash.
3 Accounting policies
Basls
These accounts have been prepared on the basls of historical cost. except that investments are shown attheir rnarket value
at the end of the year, on the accruals ba515 to show a true and fair vlew of the Circuit's fina￿la1 p05itK)n and activities.
Income Re￿%￿1t10￿
Income is included in the Starement of Flnanclal Activities ISOFAI when the Circuit becomes entitled to the resource5, and

Since the Circuit is not VAT registered. all Input VAT is charged with the expense to which it refers.

These are capitalised if their anticipated reliable life is more thèn one year, and individually c05t at least £5.000. The tangible
fixed a55ets figure is rnade up of three manses together vayed at £753.250 plu5 a plot of land adjoinin8 Keelby Method15t
Church purchased by the Clrcult for £9243. The manses are valued at cost or 2019 deerned values, of which the land
cotnponent in the opinion of the Trustees is £409,243. No Ilepreciation is provided on any of the bulldings because the
trustees Conslder their current residual fairvalue lon the assumption that they had reached the end of their useful economlc
lives by the year-endl to be not less than its current value. Any depreciation would not be mhterial. The properties have
been reviewed for Impalrment.
Investment Properties
Thls includes several items. The first, a Cottage which formed part of the Laceby Methodist Church site. Thls redundant
church was sold a fewyears ago but the Cottage wa5 retsined bythe Circuit and held for investment purposes as it had
sitting tenant. The second relate5 to the Grimsby Central Hall property. retained bythe Circuit a number of years aeo after YÉ
ceased to operate as a Churth. It has contert hall facllities 8nd is rented out to a third party. There ère two redundant
Churche5 P3ssed to The Circuit for sale. The first Is Beaconthorpe which sold this year for a total ol E68,940 8nd TMCP
collected £9,788 01 this arnount.. however Methodist Insurance would not pay out on the insurance policy so there was no
settlement in that respect. There was a loss on 5è1e of the property of £51,060. The second is Hurnber5ton Methodist Church.
The sale of this redundant property is expected to take place shortly and should appear In next year's accounts. Pending sale
these a￿ intruded as Investment Propertie5 in line with guidelines issued by the Methodlst Church. Rental incorne arises
from the La￿bY and Central Hall properties and is IncluLled in the SOFA 35 income Irom Investment Properties" as a means
of hishlightine the materiality of the income.

Inve5trnents are valued In the balance Sheet at market value at the year end. InVest￿nt Income is included in the accounts
when reeewable and any galns or losses on revaluation at the yearend are shown in the SOFA.

Debtors relate to the payment of the September stipends in August, which is a cost paid In advance of the servlce to be
received.

Creditors relate to Assessments received frorn Churches in advance.

that date and Is included under Restricted Funds. An Action plan to ￿verSe tho initlal severe Sosse5 being incurred ha5 been
put in place and is now producing early encouraging results. A programme of necessary prerDi5e5 improvemnt Is taking place
and will continue into future years. However expensive necessary roof repl4cement will also need to take place in the near
future. The value of the Building. continues to be excluded Irom these accounts untll legal ownership is lully established
folbwing a review of Trust dorumentation.
