## **INDEPENDENT EXAMINERS REPORT ON ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31[st] DECEMBER 2023**
## **To the trustees of the Herefordshire Masonic Charity Association.**
As the Charity Trustees you are responsible for the preparation of accounts; you consider that the audit requirements of section 43 (2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the Act) does not apply to this charity. It is our responsibility to state, on the basis of procedures specified in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners under section 43 (7) (b) of the Act, whether particular matters have come to our attention.
The Accounts are set out on pages 2,3 &4. Our examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as Trustees, concerning such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently we do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts. In connection with our examination, no matter has come to our attention ;
1. Which gives us reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements to keep accounting records in accordance with section 41 of the Act and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and to comply with the accounting requirements of the Act have not been met or
2. To which, in our opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

## **Governing Document:**
The association is governed by its Rules and Regulations as agreed in Annual General Meeting and with the approval of the Charity Commissioners.
## **New Trustees:**
The Deputy Provincial Grand Master and Provincial Grand Secretary are appointed annually by the President.
The General Secretary, Assistant General Secretary, Treasurer and Provincial Grand Treasurer are elected annually.
## **Objects of the Charity:**
To support Masonic Charities together with any other Charity which has the approval and recommendation of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Herefordshire and to assist in any matter whatsoever necessitous Freemasons (including serving brethren), their widows and dependant relatives of Freemasons or deceased Freemasons.
## **Activities and achievements:**
The activities and achievements of the Association during the year are set out in the General Secretary’s report, which forms part of these accounts.
