Trustees are appointed by Harlech Community Council who are the custodians of the building known as Neuadd Goffa Harlech Memorial Hall
The CommiVee Members oversee the day to day running of the Hall and Charity. They meet monthly and are made up of Members represen8ng various organisa8ons in the local Community of the Parish of Llandanwg.
All Trustees and CommiVee Members give their 8me voluntary and receive no remunera8on or other benefits apart from the Secretary who receives an honorarium which is reviewed annually.
OBJECTIVES & ACTIVITIES
The objec8ve of the Charity is the provision and maintenance of a village Hall for the use of the inhabitants of the Parish of Llandanwg.
The Hall is used by various groups, organisa8ons and individuals, all bookings for the use of the hall are maintained by the Secretary. There are weekly boxing lessons & keep fit sessions held. Merched Y Wawr & Harlech Historical Society hold their monthly mee8ngs here. Harlech triathlon use the facili8es for their events providing a hub for the organisers, compe8tors & their families/friends/supporters including provision of light refreshments & a space to hold the final presenta8on. Gwynedd Council use the Hall at Elec8on 8me enabling local residents to vote. Rock Ardudwy, a local Charity who raise funds to support
other local Chari8es, use the facili8es to put on regular musical events. Welsh Language Eisteddfods, children par8es, wedding recep8ons, Harlech Hor8cultural Society, Harlech Cra] Fair are amongst other organisa8ons and individuals that use the Hall.
ACHEIVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
COVID19 Restric8ons saw the Hall close for the main part of 2020 giving the CommiVee the opportunity to undertake some refurbishments & maintenance including upgrading and extending the kitchen, enclosing the back of the stage to reduce hea8ng costs & create a changing area, sand and re-varnish the wooden flooring in the main hall and stage area, repairs to the slate roof & general outside pain8ng.
To finance the improvements Grants totalling £36,000 were obtained from Gwynedd Council & Landfil Disposable Tax.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Income of £36,772 was received including Grants totalling £36,000. Expenditure of £33,694. Balance in Accounts as at 28 February 2021 £9829 credit.
