THE DR CHARLES BAMFORD CHARtrY TRUSTEES. REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2025 The Trvstees present their annual report for Ihe year ended 31 March 2025. The Trustees have paid full regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what activities the charity should undertake. Oblethes and Acllvllle* When it was originally sel up. the charity. then the Hermitage Charity Care Trust land Mrs Bamford's former home The Hermitage) was used by the local Nursing Associalion as a convalescent home and rest home. After Wodd War11 the nursing association was no longer active and management passed lo Ihe truslees in accordance wlth the original deeds. With the development of the National Health Service temporary convalescence became less often needed. The home which was part of The Hermitage Charity Care Trust was sold off in December 2021 and now the charity administers six small retirement dwelllngs (three pairs of semi-detached bungalows) for people from Utloxeter and dislricl vtho need them. They also rent oul a building for the use of community based groups and meetings. The trustees confirm that they have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commlssion's general guidance on public benefil when reviewing Ihe charity's aims and objectives and in planning future activities. The objectives of the charity are detailed below. The Trustees have pold full regard to guidance issved by the Charity Commission in deciding what actlvities the charity should undertake. The charfty have now completed the renovatlon of 4 bungalows and these are all occupied. Conlinulng trustee involvement has resulted in the tenants having a very secure environment with rapid responses to any Issues. Rents are still below the current market value and below cuffent housing benefit rates to meet ovr charitable remit. Access lo the centre has been Improved. We have been able to access funds from another local charity (The Wilfrid and Elsie Elkes Charity Fund reg no: 3265731 which means we ore now able to start lo progress the renovation of the 2 remaining bungalows. Continuing trustee invofvement hos resulted in the tenants having a very secure environment with rapid resF)onses to any issues. Rents are still below the current market value and below current housing benefit rates to meet our charitable remit. Looking forward further improvements vrill be made to

the ground5 as funding becomes avoilable. Flnanclal revlew The trustees have assessed the txjlance sheet and likely future cash flows. The trustees have a reasonable expectalion that the charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence and to meel it's financial obligations as they fall due for at least 12 months. The Irustees of The Dr Charles Bamford Charity are resFX)nsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and ensuring the efficient operation of those assets. The board of Trvstees meet periodically. and where risks are identified these are discussed and plans put in place to reduce these risks. The key areas of risk are Governance ond Monagement- this is discussed periodically at the Trustees meetings and appropriate action plans drawn up from these meetings. Operational - the trustees meet periodically to discuss the operation of the accommodation provided.
