The Trustees present their annual report for the year ended 31 March 2024 Ob j•ctxv•• and Actlv*tl•s When it was originally set up the The Trust (and Mrs Bamford, s former home The Hermitage was used by the local Nursing Association as a convalescent home and rest home. After World War II the nursing association was no longer active and management passed to the trustees in accordance with the original deeds. With the development of the National Health Service temporary convalescence became less of ten needed. The home which was part of The Herrnitage Charity Care Trust was sold off in December 2021 and the trust administer5 six srnall retirement dwellings (three pairs of semi-detached bungalow31 for people from Uttoxeter and district who need thern. They also rent out a building for the use of community based groups and meetings. The trustees confirm that they have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit when reviewing the charity's aims and objectives and in planning future activities. The ob jectives of the charity are detailed below. The Trustee3 have paid full regard to guidance issued by the Charlty Commission in deciding what activities the charity should undertake. The 3rd renovated Bungalow was tenanted and work started on the 4th Bungalow Ino:61 The trustees are continuing to investigate possible sources of funding for completion of the rernaining works. Efforts have also resulted in a local cornpany continuing to provide services for grounds maintenance .J]o cost. Continuing trustee involvement has resulted in the tenants having a very secure environment wlth rapid responses to any issues. Rents are still below the current rnarket value and below current housing benefit rates to llleet our charitable rernit. Access to the centre has been uttproved
with the addition of an access ramp. Looking f orward f urther improvements will be made to the grounds as funding becomes avaiLable. Flnanclal z•vi•w The trustees have assessed the balance sheet and likely future casn f Lows. The trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence and to meet it's financial obligations as they fall due for at least 12 months. TE]e trustees of The Herrnitage Charity Care Trust are responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and ensuring the efficient operation of those assets. The board of Trustees meet perlodicallyl and where risks are identified these are dLSCU8sed and plans put in place to reduce these risks. The key areas of risk are Governance and Management this is discussed periodically at the Trustees meetings and approprlate actlon plans drawn up f rom these rneetings. Operational the trustees meet periodically to discuss the operation of the accou0dat10n provided.
