Writhlingyton Villag¢ Hall and the surrounding recreation tield have been maintained by the Trustees and the
Management Con)mittee during the financial year 2023124.
To create income for ihe Hall funds we have the following regulaT booking8; Art Classes, A Companion
l)ug ShoM.- A Funday On The Recreation Field. Several Quiz Nights, Singying To RcTnimb¢r. Slimniing
World, The Barn Poets: The Tuesda>. Over 50$ Club, A Flower and Produce Show, and well supported
Friday Bingyo Evenin&7s. The hall is also used for, Wakes. Parties, and as a Local and General Election
Polling Station. In addition some local people have gienerously given the hall anonymous donations. These
rinances have enabled the hall's management committee to pay for insurance. electricity. gyas, waler.
m(iintenanLe, and repairs.
During the year a litesaving Defibrillator has been fitted on the front outside of the hall.
The hall has a contract with the charity 'Southside . funded bj. Bath and North East SOme￿et Council
(BANES), to hirc the liall on¢ aft¢rnoon a w¢¢k, until 2028. so that a professional chef ￿,111 cook. and supply
free food to local people.
I'here is a separate Snooker, and Billiards Room, with over fifty playing members, ag7ed 16 to 70+ years.
This is run a sub-comniittee ￿'11h all income going directlv to the Flall's Managemenl C'ommittee funds.
The local authority. BANES. continues to cut our Recreation Field grass. to the rear of the Flall. and
maintain the Children's Play Arca F.quipmLni. BANFS inslallLd. and inspects the play equipm¢nt. bul
the i.'illage hall 0￿,nS the ground the equipment stands on. The Management Committee gal'e pennission, in
the 1970s. for this installation on condition Ihat BANES cuts the g?rass, insprcls, and maintain5 the
equipment and keeps the wooden fence on ihe edge of the field in good order. This agreement works ￿ell
for both parties.
As a r¢gJisl¢r¢d charity the Trusl¢¢s. and Manag¢ment Committ¢¢. wer¢ d¢ligJhted io t.und the 2023 "Over
65s Christmas Lunch:. and will be doing so in December 2024. They also proudly support the annual
MaLMillan Coffee Mumingi. and the very active Writhlingjton Action Group ￿,hO are workingy to iniprove,
and promote our village.

The Tru.8tees are verv pleased that the Managrement Committee continued io run, inspect. and maintain the
Hall. and the Recreation Field.

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts
carried otst under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out
my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given
by the Charity Commission under section 14515llbl of the Act.

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material
matter5 have come to my attention in connection with the
examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any rnaterial
respect-
the accounting records were not kept in accordance with sÈ¢tion
130 of the Art,. or
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
the accounts did not cornpty with the applicable requlrements
concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the
Charities IAccounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any
requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair, view whSch is
not a matter considered a5 part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in
corbnection with the examinBtion to which attention should be
drawn in this report in order to enable a proper under5tandinB of
the accounts to be reached.
