OBJECTIVES AND ACTWITIES
Principle Activities
Bilton Pg01's Land and Other Charities was founded on bequests from v8rious benefactors. The b￿￿estS included
monies and freehold land curienlly used as allotmènts.
The income from investments and Ihtr allotment renls received are used for the benefit ol the poor. the elderfy and the
younger inhabitants ol the ancient parish of Bilton.
Public benefit
In setting the objectives ol the Charity and planning our activities the trustees have glven ¢areful consideration to the
Chaiity Commission's general guidance on public benefit.

The trustees w¢ll endeavoLtr to maintain the cutrenl level of fin¥n¢iBI $4JPPOrt to qualifying persons ond organisations in
accordance with the ¢harity's govoming trust deed.

Legal Status
The Charity is governed in accordancè with a Charity Commission scheme of 8 January 1878 as varied by schernes of 10
O￿Obe1 1933, S March 1957 and 30 August 1960.
The irust is a registered charlty and is not liable to ¢orporotion lax.
Organisational structure

Basis of preparlng the financial statements
The financial statemen15 tsf th& charity, which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102, have been prepared in
Octordance with the Charities SORP IFRS 1021 Accounting and Reporting by Ch8rit¢es'. Statement of
Recommended Piartice applicable lo ¢harities preparing their aEcounts in accordance with the Financial
Reportin9 Standard applicable tn the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 102} (2nd edition, effective 1 J8TIiFOry
2019)., and the Charities Act 2011. The financiaE 8tatÈmenls have been prepared under the historical cost
¢onvention as modified by the revaluation ol invèstments which are included at market value.

All income is recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities when Ihe charity is legally entitttrd tts the income

Expenditure
Expenditure is a¢￿UntEd for on an accruals basis and has been dassifi¢d under headin95 that aggregate all
costs related lo the category. Where costs cannot be di￿llY attrtbuted to particular headings they have been
allocated to activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources. Support ¢o$ts are those costs incurred
diieclly in support of expendllure on the objectwÈs of the charty.
Fixed assèts investments
Fixed 8SSet Investments consist of bank balances that are due to mature in over 12 months al the point the
deposits are made.

Investments are included in the fjnancial st8lemenl$ al mld-market Value. Raèlised and unrealised gain5 and
losses are shown in the reconciliation of funds.
Endowment investmènts
EtKlowment land ale held al cost and ¢ongists of freehold land. No depreciation charge is charged on the land.
Fund accounting
Unrosliicted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objective$ at the discretion of the Irusleès.

furtherance of the objects of the charty.
The restrtcted fksnd 18 represented by the Charities Official Investment Fund detailed in the Investment notè. This
is a capital fund where the assets are required to be invested rather than expended. The income 1$ expendable at
Ihe discretion tsf the trustees in further¥nGe of the objects ol the charity.
