The charity is an unincorporated as50cialion and the trustees are in¢orporaled as a body. The charity ¢5oes not actively fundraise and seeks to continue the philanlhropic work dèsired by th& donor through the car&ful st8wardshlp of its existing r8sour¢es. From the tirnp of ts foundation in 1593 one of the Charity's concems has been fuel poverty. Originally, the Trustees provided coal to just Iwelve poor men.. now they provide fuel 9ranls for considerably more qua￿.fylng persons aged 67 or over.
