The scheme has been further amended on 8 April 2025 in order to modernise the governance and administration of the charity. Aims and Ob 1. The charity's main objective is to provide one third of its net income to the Ecclesiastical Charity In the parish of Halesworth. 2. To manage an old almshouse building to provide additional income. 3. To pay for ￿rtain expenditure for the benefit of the parish church. Activities and Achievements The Trustees have made a number of amendments to the charity's governing document (last amended in 19751, in order to modernise the governance and adminislralion of the charity, in accordance with the Charity Commission guidelines. The changes include increasing the number of trustees, appointing a chairperson annually and also introducing a Treasurer or Finance Lead role to oversee financial management and guide our strategic financial decision making. The Trustees have paid due regard to the public benefit guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what activities the charity should undertake.

This income lotalled £9,82312024'. £9,476). The charity retained ils investments in COIF funds and high interest deposit accounts. This income totalled £19,121 (2024. £18,895). The charity also received a legacy of £10.000 in December 2025. The excess of the charity's resoUr￿S for the year in the general fund was £29,040 (2024: £20,183) Of Ihis £9,680 {2024.. £6,727) was given to the Ecclesiastical Charity in the parish of Halesworth. The chariiy also met parish church expendrture in the year of £2,828 (2024. 4,713) The Propety Repair Fund is held to meet the anticipaled cost of roof repairs, which the struclural engineers have indicated will be in the region of £90,000. It is the trustees, intention to continue to increase the Property Fund annually to meet this requirement. It has been agreed by the Trustees, that this year's increase to this fund will be £10,000. Reserves Poli The charty holds three reserves, these are.. Endowment fund- this fund represents the investment in the almshouses and COIF funds. Property repair fund a designated fund within unrestricted funds Ihat is used for the upkeep of the almshouses. General fund this is the charity's unrestricted fund which is used to meet the charity's second and third objectives previously referred to in this report. Investment Poli The investmenls are held in COIF Charity Funds. The inveslments are kept under review every six months. Future Plans The Trustees will continue to promote the charity to maximise the beneficiaries it helps. They will also undertake a comprehensive review of the charity's financial management and investments, in order to maximise future funding for its charitable aims. The Trustees will also review the charity'5 goveming document, with the aim of presenting rt in a fomat that is easier to interpret.

Statement of Trustees, Res onsibililies Charity Law requires the Trustees to prepare Financial Statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view to the state of affairs of the charity and of its financial activities for that period. In preparing those Financial Statements the Trustees are required a) select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently., b) make judgements and estimates Ihal are reasonable and prudent., slate whelher the policies adopted are in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice., and dl prepare the Financial Statements on the going concern basis unless il Is inappropriate to assume that the charity will continue in operation.

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the trustees of the charity, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act').

I report in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Accountlng Policies Basis of preparation The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention with items recoEnised at cost or transaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant note to these accounts. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice and in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standards applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS1021 issued on 16 july 2014 and the Financial Reporting Standards applicable in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland IFRS1021 and the Charities Act 2011. The financial statements have been prepared in sterlin& being the functional currency of the charity. Monetary amounts in these financial statements have been rounded to the nearest £. The charity constitutes a public benefit entity as defined by FRS 102. The assessment of the Trustees is that the charity is a going concern. Fund accounting Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the Tnjstees in furtherance of the charitV'S objectives. Restricted funds are amounts where the donor has specified the purpose of the use of the funds. There were no restricted funds held by the charity during the year. Endowment funds relate to fund5 received for a restricted purpose. The investment income received from the capital invested can be spent for this purpose, with the capital remaining as an investment. Income All incoming resources are included on the Statement of Financial Artivities when the charity has sufficient certainty that receipt of the income is probable and the amount can be measured reliably. Income from investments and from rental income is included on an accrual basis for the period which the income relate5. Expendlture Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obligation to make a payment to a third party. It ha5 been classified under headings that aggregate all cost5 related to that category. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular headings they h?ve been allocated on a basis consistent with the use of resources. The charity is not registered for VAT and accordingly expenditure is shown gross of irrecoverable VAT. Grants offered subject to conditions which have not been met at the year end date are noted as commitment but not accrued as expenditure. Cash and cash equivalents Cash and cash equivalents include cash in hand, deposits held at call with banks.
