Aims and Ob'ectives
1. The Charit￿8 main objective is to provide one third of its net income to the
Ecclesiastical Charity in the parish of Halesworth.
2. To manage an old almshouse building lo provide addilional income.
3. To pay for ceriain expenditure ft)r the benefit of the parish church.
Activities and Financial Review
During the year. the charity continued to collect rent from the old almshouses that it owns.
This income totslled £9.476 {2023: £9,256). The charity retained its investments in COIF
funds and high interest deposit accounts. This income totalled £18.895 (2023: £18,067).
The eX￿$S of thè charity's reSoU￿eS for the year in tho general fund were £20,18312023.'
£17,831) Of Ihis £6.727 12023.. £5,877) was given to Ihè Ecclesiastical Charity in the
parish of Halesworth. The Charlty has also rnet parish church expendlture In the year of

The Property Repair Fund is held to meet thè anticipated cost of roof repairs. which the
structural engineers have indicated will be in the region of £90.000. 11 is the trustees.
intention to continue to increase the Property Fund annually to meet this requirement. It
has been agreed by the trustees. that this yearfs increase to this fund will be £40,000.

The charity holds Ihree reserves, Ihese are..
Endowment fund- this fund represents Ihe investment in the almshouses and COIF funds.
Propety repair fund - this fund is used for the upkeep of the almshouses.
General fund this is the charity's unrestricted fund which is used to meel the charities
second and third objectives referred to above.

The trustees have reviewed the risks lo which the charity is exposed and are satisfied the
systems in place are sufficient and robust so as lo manage and mitigale exposure to those
risks.

Charity Law requires the Trustees to prepare Financial Statements for each financial year
which give a Irue and fair view to the slate of affairs of the Gharity and of its financial
activities for Ihat period. In preparing ihose Financial Slatemenls Ihe Trustees are required

b) make judgements and estimates thal are reasonable and prudent;

As the trustees of th8 charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in
accordance with the Charities Act 2011 {Ihe Act'l.
I report in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts carried out under section
145 of Ihe 2011 Act and in carrying out my examin81ion I have followed all the applicable
Directions given by the Charily Commission under section 145(5}Ib} of the Act.
Independent examiner's slatement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no malèrial mallers have come to my
attention in connection with the examination which glves me cause to believe that in any
material respect..
accounling records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of th8 Act., or
the accounts did not accord with those rewrds; or
the accounts did not comply wilh Ihe applicable accounting requirements
concerning the form and conlents of accounts set out in the Charilies (Accounts
and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give
a 'true and falrf vlew whlch Is not a matter considered as part of an independent
examlnalion.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the
examination lo which attention should be drawn in Ihis report in order to enable a proper
understanding of the accounts to be reached.

l. Accountin8 Policies
Basls of preparatlon
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention with items recognised at cost
or transaction value unless otherwlse stated In the relevant note to these accounts. The financial ststement5
have been prepared irb accordance with Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended
Practice and in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standards applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland
IFRS1021 issued on 16 July 2014 and the Financial Reporting Standard5 applicable in the United Kingdom and
Republic of Ireland IFR51021 and the Charities Act 2011.
The charlty constltutes a public benefit entity as deflned by FRS 102.
The assessfflent of the Tru5tee5 Is that the charity15 a going concern. In preparing the accounts the Trustees
have considered whether In applying the accounting policie5 required by the Charities SORP FRS 102 a
restatement of comparatlve items was needed. No restatements were required.
Income
All Incoming resources are Included on the Statement of Financial Activities when the charity has sufficient
certainty that receipt of the income Is probable and the amount can be measured reliably. Income from
Investments and from rental income is included on an accrual basis for the period which the income relates.
Expenditure
Expenditure is recoEnised once there is a legal or constructive obligation to make a payment to a third party. It
has been cl?55ified under headings that aggregate all costs related to that category. Where costs cannot be
directly attributed to particular headings they have beerb allocated orb a basis consistent with the use of
resources. The charity is not registered for VAT and accordingly expenditure is shown gross of irrecoverable VAT.
Grants offered subject to conditions which have not been met at the year end date are noted as commitment
but not accrued as expenditure.
Investment5 held are revalued at the 8alan¢e Sheet date and the 8aifb or loss taken to the Statement of Flnanclal
Actlvltles.
2. Freehold Property
Freehold property comprising the Old Almshouses at Halesworth was last valued at £78,000.
