the CBSO'5 Youth Orchestra and the Birmingham Royal Ballet. widening Its scope even further. The Trust DOW Supports
new works created for public performance. exhlbition or publicatlon In Birmin8ham, In any lorm.

The Trusttes, policy on investments15 to malntaln a b¥lance between the Income, whlch Is essentlal io the work of the
Trustees, and a steady long-termgrowth of the assets. The portfolio may Include investment In Sultable rental property.
The Trustees con51der that thè investment5 have performed s*lsfactorlly agalnst this policy Sn the Conte￿ of market
condStions over the year.
The Trustee5 seek wherever possible to invest in companles and countries which dernon5trate a positlve approach to
Ind5viduals. communitles, envlronmentèl performance and tackling climate chan8e. The Trustees intend that the
Implementatlon ol ihelr Investment policy must take into account ethical, soclal and 8overnance considerations, so a5
not to include dlrect Invèstrnents in areas that are consSdered harmful to m8nkind or to the Interests of the Charlty I

The John FeeneyTrust receives a permanent retord of all commi55ions upon thelr completSon - for example, In the £ase
of a music £omposltlon, a copy of the score sl8ned by the composer. or a signed good quality photograph of an artefact.
These are permanently accesslble to the publlc In the Trust'5 archlves (housed on permanent loan in the University of
Blm)In8ham's Speclal Collectlonsl. Tru5tee5 have, wSth adv4ce, 88reed that It Is not P05siblÈ to put a substantlve
monetary value to these Items.

The Trust has a re5erve5 po15cy that is reviewed annually. The Trust needs a suffTclent level of free reserves IdefSned a5

The financial statements of the charity, which 15 a public benefit entity under FRS 102, have been prepared in
accordance with ihe Charicies SORP IFRS 1021 'Accounting and Reportlng by Charitles.. Statement of
Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts ITh accordance with the Financial
Reportln8 Standard 8pplicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 (effective l January 20191,. Financial
Reportlng Standard 102 The Flnanclal Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Repub15c of Ireland. and the
CharStles Act 2011. The financlal statement5 have been prepared under the hlstor5cal cost convention, with the
exceptlon of investments whlch are included at market value.
