The Charity continues lo provide almshouse apartmen15 for 35 residents in 33 units. During the year the charity
continued lo refurbish and upgrade apartments as they became vacant. before new ￿SIdenC19S are offered. The
grounds and environs a￿ maintained to 8 high standard.

Thè main activity of the Charlty is ￿ provide residential almshouse accommodation with 8 wardening and
emergency call out service for those in need. The charity also prowdes educational granis lo students under the
age 0125 in further education.

The Charity has rented out 33 units in the year at near lull capacity. During the year the charity conlin4Jed lo
concentrate on maintsining the properties and surrounding areas lo the highesl $tandards

Thè trustees have adopted a low risk policy to investrnent. InvÈslmenls are with thg COIF Ch8Alies Investment
Fund, Quilter and M&G Investments.
After much ￿Search and consideration the trustees inve51ed £80,871 in Pholovollaic cells in 2011 and have
seen 8 19.39% ￿turn on this investment during 202512024.. 16.15%1. The investment is being written off over
20 year period.

The TfU51ees meet on a bi monthly basis whofe careful consideration is given to any rnarters arising. They
consider financial risk in light of the ¢urTrnt economlc climate and have made careful decisions regarding their
cash deposits. They receive reports from thè ¢lerk and warden regarding work carried out in the period on the
ac¢omrnodalion and consider wh81hor this raises any risks r898rding future evenis.

2.1 Basls of preparation of financlal statsmonts
Tho financigl slaternents have been prepared In accordance with the Charities SORP IFRS 1021
Accounting and Rgporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities
preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicablè in the UK
and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 leffectwe 1 January 20191, th8 Financial Rgporting Standard
applicable in the UK and Republlc ol Ireland IFRS 1021 and thè Charities A¢1 2011.
The financial statements have been prepared to give a 'true and lairf view and have departed from
ihe Charities lAc￿unts and Report51 Regulations 2008 only to the extent required to provide a 'lrue
and fail view. This departure has involved followir¥g the Charibes SORP IFRS 1021 publishèd in
October 2019 rather thèn Ihe Accounting and Reporting by Charili83.' Statement of Recommended
Practice 8ffecb.ve from 1 April 2005 which has since been withdrawn.
Millingtons Charity meets the definition of a public benefit enlty under FRS 102. As5815 and liabt"lities

All income is recognised once the Charity has entitlement lo the income. il is probable that the
income will be received and the amount of income receivable can be measured reliably.
Grants are included in the Statement of financial aclivitre5 on a receivable basis. The balance ol
incDme received for specrfic purposes but not expended during the period 15 shown in the relevant
funds on the Balance sheet. Whera income is received in advance ol entitlement ol receipt. its
r&¢ognition 18 deferred and included in Creditors as deferred irrome. Where ent11￿ment fKcurs
before incoma is receivad, the incorne is accmed.

of each activity are made up of the total of direct costs and shared costs, including support costs
involvad in undertaking ea¢h acl*vily. Direct costs attributable lo a single acb'vity are allocated directly
lo that a¢livity. Shared costs which contribut6 to mortr than one activity and support costs which are
not attributable lo a single activity are apportioned be￿&8￿ those activities on a basis ¢tsnsistenl with
the use ol resources. Central staff costs are allocated on the basis of lime spent, and depreciatson

fulfilled. Gfanls offered subject lo conditions which hav8 not been mel al the year end are noted a5 a
commitment. but not accnjed as expenditure.

Tangible fixed assets are initially recognis¥d al cost. Aftor rgCOgni1Son, under the co81 model. tarrfJible

losses. All costs incurred lo bring a tangible fixed asset into its intended working condition should be
included in the measuramenl of cost.

Trade and other deblors are recognisod at the settlement amount after any trade discount offered.
Prepayments are valued at the amount prepaid net ol any trade discounts due.

Liabilities are recognised al the amount that the Charity anlicspales il will pay to settle the debt or Ihe
amount il has rocaved as advanced payments for the goods or services il tnusl provide.
Provisions are measured at the b6$1 estimate of the amounts required to settle the obligation. Where
the èffect of the lime value of money is material, thè prowsion is based on the present value of those
arnounts, discountgd at the pre-tax discount rate that reflects the risks specrf￿c lo the liability. The
unwirKling of the discount Is recognisÈd in the St8tsrnenl ol financial activities as a finance cost.
2.10 Flnancial Instrumonts
The Charity only has financial assets and financial Itabilltigs of a kind that qualfy 8$ basic financial
inslrumènls. Basic financial instruments ar8 initially racognised at transaction value and subsequently
measured at their settlement value. Endovm)gnl funds have reslrictgd capital, not being available for
dislribulion. Any capital appreciation is reinvested in order io generate increased income. Any income
generated is distributed to chanable expendilure.
2.11 Pon8lons
The Charity operates a defined contribution pension scherne and the pension ¢h8rge represents the
arnounl8 payable by the Charity lo the fund in respecl of the yè8r.
2.12 Fund a¢¢ountlng
Ganeral funds are unrestricted funds which are available for use al th8 discrefjon of the Trustees in
lurthèranc8 of the general objectives of the Charity and which havè not been designated lor other
purposes.
D85ignaled funds comprise unieslricled fvnds that have been sel aside by the Trustees for particular
purpose5. The aim and use of each designated fund 15 set out in th8 notes to the financial
ststements.
Restricted funds are funds which are to be used in 8ccord8nce with specific roslrictions imposed by
donors or which have been raised by the Charity lor particular purposes. The costs of raising and
adrrinist8ring such funds are Charged against the specific fund. The aim and use ol each restricltsd
