The Boffjhamwoc#J Halls Trust$ (also known as the chU￿h Halls TNsts) manage two Iru$l$ known as
the'sunday School Trust, and the'H4rold Gurgevan Trusv. Historicalty, this involved the management
of Iwo communty h811s until 2010. when the deads werè varied under section 36 of the Chanties ACL
and Schem& approval was granted to devek)p the site to prwde a new ¢ommunty facility. From 15th
April 2011 the TnJslee$ entered into a leagthold arrangementwith Hertrordshire County Counol to build
No 96. Consequentty, the Trustees retain a rnntrolling interest In the land and are lead partnerswith the
lo¢al authority in the communty facility.
Havlng developed the land consistent with the charty deeds. th• aims and purpos8s of the Trustees
has ovolved to that of landlor(J$ and managers ofthe lease and its proceeds.
Objective8 and Activltles
The Tru8lee8 role is lo ensu￿ the objeclives ofthe d88ds a￿ pwpotuated in the spirit of the leasehold
arrangement and the services provided in the facllity. This is more than legal or supervisory. and in
practice is advi50ry. ¢ollaborativ8 and consutstiv8. Thrryjgh the role of the incumbent. as chair of
trustees, regular ennlact is kept with the management of the facility and meefjngs of the managemonl
group. The facAlity housgs the library, museum and youth service. and host$ training and learning
opportuniti"e8_ The facility is a valuable community hub. and 1$ well used by stalLrtory, volunteer and
social groups as well as private bookings. Running of th8 facility 1$ contracted by HCC lo'ln$pirall' who
are responsible for facility managemenL service provision and delivery.

Financially, in recognition of the interest AJI Saints Church had in the Sunday SchcK*l Hall the Trustees
grant ard the church to gnsure the Christian education r8quirgm9nl of the Sunday School Trust is
perpelLtated. In recent years the amount of the grant awarded has increased in recognition of the
increasing rofe of AEI Saints In delivering the aims and obj•¢tives of the Tru$1 for the F4ople of
Borehamwood.

During the courne of the year 2024 Mrs Valorio J¥kson reSigr￿d as trusts8, and the parish ineumb8nt
retired and resigned as Rect￿. To sustain the lunctionlng ofthe Trust, during the vacancy. and manage
th8 transition to the new Rector once appointsd. the board appointed the Ven¢r8blo Ar¢hdeacon of
ertford. Janet Ma¢kenzle, as trustee and senior church representative. As part of the resilien
planning, il was also agreed Ihat Revd T Vvarr would conlinue as a Trustee lo advise and oversee the
interim actlons during the appointment prrscgss. Thi8 has necessitated remole working for both trustees
and partners. At the dose ofthe year the recruitment wtte85 was ongoing.
