OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
The objectives of the charity are:

quallty and has resulted in the number of name5 on the Waiting L15t Increasing.
The Fnalntenan¢e costs, due to the work programme for the vacant propertles, has rewlted In the costs belng hlglK•r
than nomwl this year. The Soclety's Bulldlng Consultant Is stlll experfenclng problems wSth obtalnlng bulldlng
materials and is consclous of the level of councll tu. He pro￿￿e5 a Property Maintenance Revlew each year to the
trustees which provide5 an up-date on the Condition of the almshouses and highlights any wtential maintenance

The Chalmian contlnues to pursue Herefordshire Council over the refurbishrnent of Corronercial Road incorporating the
entrance to the Burfal Ground but no further progress has been made.
The lack of appropriate grant appli¢ations from in1T￿duaIs remains a concem to the trustees. The Secretary was
appointed to the He￿fOrdshire Funders Group to promote the Soclety's grant work. Local charities Contin￿ to benefit
from donatitsns and the ￿fiety has supported agaln this year the Friends of Blackfriars Rose Gardens and Marches
Famlly Network.
PUBLIC BENEFIT SCHEME
The Soclety has throughoLrt the year given due regard to the public benefit of the charity. In particular, the charbty
has assisted by way of donatlon and loan to IndtJ5triou5 indivlduab. a(fvanced education and prO￿￿)ted other activftles
for the benefit of the l¢xalily. The charity also contlnues to Invest and Improve Its housfjng stock wlth a view to
provldlng accommdation of a high standard and an independent way of lTrfe for those residents of Hereford City and
surrounding areas who may not otherwise be able to enjoy such facilities.
