Activities
To relieve, generally and individually, Ealing residents (with priority to Hanwell residents) who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress by making grants of money or paying for items, services or facilities calculated to reduce the need, hardship or distress. The William Hobbayne Community Centre is used for activities to aid mental and physical wellbeing.
Objects: (a) The Trustees Shall First Defray Out Of The Income Of The Charity The Cost Of Maintaining The Property Of Charity (including The Repair And Insurance Of Any Buildings Thereon Other Than Almshouses) And All Other Charges And Outgoings Payable In Respect Thereof And All The Proper Costs, Charges And Expenses Of And Incidental To The Administration And Management Of The Charity. Subject To Payment Of The Expenses Aforesaid The Trustees Shall Pay The Following Yearly Sums, Or Such Other Amounts As The Commissioners From Time To Time In Writing Approve Out Of The Income Of The Charity: (1) A Sum Of ?25 To The Rector For The Time Being Of The Ecclesiastical Parish Of St. Mary, Hanwell, For Preaching A Sermon On The Sunday Before Easter; (2) A Sum Of ?5,000 To The Churchwardens For The Time Being Of The Ecclesiastical Parish Of St. Mary, Hanwell For The Maintenance Of The Bells And Bell Ropes And Subject Thereto Towards The Repair Of The Parish Church; (3) A Sum Of ?2,500 To The Trustees For The Time Being Of The Educational Charity Of William Hobbayne For Use For The Purposes Of That Charity. (b) The Trustees Shall First Defray Out Of The Income Of The Almshouse Branch The Cost Of Repairs And Insurance And All Other Charges And Outgoings Payable In Respect Of The Almshouses Of The Charity. Subject To The Payments Aforesaid The Trustees Shall Apply The Income Of The Almshouse Branch For The Benefit Of The Residents In The Almshouses Of The Charity Or Any Of Them In Such Manner As The Trustees Think Fit From Time To Time. The Almshouses Belonging To The Charity And The Property Occupied Therewith Shall Be Appropriated And Used For The Accommodation Of Residents In Conformity With The Provisions Of This Scheme. (c) (1) The Trustees Shall Apply The Income Of The Relief In Need Branch In Relieving Either Generally Or Individually Persons Resident In The Area Of The Former Civil Parish Of Hanwell Who Are In Conditions Of Need, Hardship Or Distress By Making Grants Of Money Or Providing Or Paying For Items, Services Or Facilities Calculated To Reduce The Need, Hardship Or Distress Of Such Persons. (2) The Trustees May Pay For Such Items, Services Or Facilities By Way Of Donations Or Subscriptions To Institutions Or Organisations Which Provide Or Which Undertake In Return To Provide Such Items, Services Or Facilities For Such Persons. (3) Subject Thereto, The Trustees Shall Apply The Income Of The Relief In Need Branch In Relieving Either Generally Or Individually Persons Resident In The London Borough Of Ealing Who Are In Conditions Of Need, Hardship Or Distress In Manner Aforesaid. (4) If And In So Far As Income Cannot Be Applied For Relief In Need In The Manner Aforesaid The Trustees May Apply The Same For Such Charitable Purposes For The General Benefit Of The Inhabitants Of The Said London Borough As They Think Fit.
